Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

SS Ringwraith is same scale as SS Sauron..If your gonna get SSW Sauron get SS ringwraith /witch king maquette or SSW Ringwraith on steed to get same scale...Thats just how I would do it if I had to choose...That SSW Sauron will now get harder and harder to get and will cost more now that people want it instead of $900 SS 36 inch1/4 scale massive and beautiful Sauron...LOL

Calling Jerry's work tasteless is one of the dumbest statements made in this section ever. The only tasteless thing is that comment and lack of actual thought out into it.

As far as which to get is difficult to be honest. I will say I think I'd go with Sauron by small margin. First he's the Lord of the Rings and that is very much captured in this piece. It has the same presence that Jerry's work does which I think captured the evil that Sauron was. Finally, it's huge and detailed which will stand out when everyone sees it.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

I'd buy this over Sauron for one reason alone. No glow paint effect. In fact, I am buying this and not Sauron for that solitary reason.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

yeah Josh the Sauron has a total presence, well both statues look amazing and so detailed and i personally love Jerry's work and i think the glow effect on sauron is awesome and does not bother me in the least but i've been looking around my room and Sauron is just a tad too big for my room.

I wasn't going to say anything but you went about it in such a rude manner and decided to trample over my opinion, so I'm going to trample over your opinion of my opinion. I gave my reason why I thought it was tasteless, because it's a herofication of the lord of evil which I don't agree with. I'm sure Jerry has done some amazing work but his Sauron painting doesn't work for me. Very few people love every single art piece an artist creates.

Do you even understand what the word tasteless means when talking about art or design? It relates directly to aesthetics which although is partly influenced by universal elements, is very much personal.

Seriously think before you post. If I said it sucks followed by nothing then sure, attack me. But don't attack me after spelling out the reason I thought it was tasteless.

I could write an essay on why I don't like both the statue and painting but instead I chose to summarise my thoughts. I even made it obvious I was summarising by placing the words, "to put it bluntly." Have you ever seen those words and not read something blunt?

So any statue or art of Darth Vader,The Emperor,Loki,Joker,Thanos,or any bad evil one etc,etc must be tasteless too according to you...that's the message I get from reading your posts

What? We're talking about the world Tolkien created, not Lucas or anyone else. Apples and oranges.

Well, that's a good reason then. I'd still try to figure out how to make him fit but you have to make due with what you've got.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

Well I've only ordered the Ringwrainth on steed PF EX, I already have the weta Sauron which is a great piece and I'm happy with, still 24 inch high. so wont be getting the Sideshow Sauron PF. I think this is a good way too go I've seen the weta sauron for like £150 on bay over here.:monkey1

Your post was rude and you did not use the word correctly. I'm sorry you think you're correct on both but the facts state otherwise. I'm sure you could have stated your dislike for both a little better but in this case you did not. Jerry is a VIP of the site and they will be talked to with respect and not run off like so many other VIP's. As I said your post was rude and so it was pointed out to you. You are more than welcomed to post your dislike just do it more respectfully.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

In person, the RWoS was more impressive than the Sauron statue. While a big and commanding piece, Sauron just has too many flaws - awkward pose, large head, incorrect shoulder spikes, helm spikes, wonky orange paint. It's a nice piece and many can look past those issue because of their love of the character, but as finished pieces, the Ringwraith was better.

Thats what I thought, and to me the Ringwraith on steed is iconic of LOTR/Tolkien, I sold my Weta RWOS, when I decided to get this boy.

It's not looking past issues its for me anyways those aren't issues. The shoulders need to be tweaked the rest if it looked fantastic at comic-con. So I'm sure for some of you these might be issues. :peace Either way getting one over the other is getting a fantastic piece.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

While the pose and Cheetos coloring are certainly a matter of taste (or tastelessness :monkey3) the sculpting inaccuracies compared to the source material (I also forgot his tiny mail skirt) are not. Look past them or not, it's just off in several spots when compared to the costume. Details on the base are nice tho.

Point taken but the same can be said about your post, including using a word incorrectly (which I didn't do :nana:). "Dumbest?" There are far more appropriate words that could've slotted into that space.

And I did not know Jerry was a VIP here. Had I known that, I would've said things a little less blunt :wink1:

No...Youre wrong....EVIL IS EVIL...no apples and oranges when it comes to that...maybe you should have explained it further a little bit earlier in your comments

Do you remember this line you wrote?...No apples and oranges here...You just described Vader and the Emperor, Loki or anyone else...So only for Tolkien you dont like this pose for an evil lord?...something is not right or are you just being very very particular IMHO...
