Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

#293 is in the house!! :panic:

This thing looks OUTSTANDING in person,no photo's could ever do it justice...even the changed-base is growing on me I have to say,it does look like real mud and compliments the overall "darkness" of the statue.

It's official, they nailed this one...BEAUTIFUL JOB SS!!! :clap

Fixed up the horsie, but gonna wait until tomorrow to fuss with the 'wraith...got a day off work tomorrow :yess:

To anybody who's still on the fence with this one,I can honestly say:

DO IT!!!! :lecture

You certainly won't regret it!!

Man this thing is huge! Didn't have a problem with the scabbards but I cannot for the life of me find that button on the cloak they mention in the instructions.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

Here's a picture of my FedEx invoice. I never get charged duties. It's been like this since day 1 from Sideshow.

Wow Custo, I don't know how you've been so lucky, but congrats man. I've probably ordered 30 or 40 things directly from SS over the last 6 or 7 years and EVERY single item has had a customs/import charge through FEDEX. I'm in Ontario, don't know if that makes a difference.

$200+ Hot Toys figures usually set me back about $40+ in import charges

$350 Premium Formats, usually about $60+

This DROM - I'm guessing well over $100. :monkey2

There's a thick seam that runs across the cloak about two thirds of the way up. There's a tiny little button on either end. Took me a while to find it, too!

That doesn't sound right man. I just paid $53 for the DROM in Canada.

Hmmm, checked but I'll give it another go. Thank you sir!

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

Y'know, if you compare the horse's ehad to that of the R/W Horse bust, the mouths are designed different, with the bust looking wider/deeper. Can both mouths be true for horses, or is one mouth not designed properly?

FedEx must hate you.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

It's all good guitarmandan. If I had the right place to display it I would go for this one as well. I was trying to talk myself into believing the Rider being not THAT great, to ease my pain. But that is a harder job than I thought after visiting this thread! :lol

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

Just brought mine home and just, Wow. Size and detail truly make a statement.
Horse looks fantastic, now I get to mess with the robe.
Sword hand magnet is nice and solid and looks great, really adds just that extra bit to it. :yess: :clap
If Sauron is half this good I'll probably order him as well.

Once you see how good he is you'll be on the SS site with you're CC out faster than a speeding bullet.

Like me.... :rotfl

Yah, your probably right.
Early on I made a decision to not start collecting figures/statues for Middle Earth as there is SO much.
When I saw the preview for RWOS it was a day one order for me I was that impressed.
Sauron I can wait but if I only get two, these are the two to get.

:gah::gah::gah::gah::gah: You're certainly NOT making it easier to stay clear from this!

But congrats and happy you like it! :clap

I was going to say: "you guys certainly don't make it easy..."

from the pics I'd says the Weta piece is more unrealistic. I used to ride horses and the angle on the neck looks a bit weird.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

The Dark Rider of Mordor Ex #81 is in de house. :rock

Man it is something else...the work fantastic just doesn't do it justice. :rock

For anyone sitting on the fence on this one...go for it...you won't regret it...it rocks...love it - love it - love it :rock

Pics to follow, but I can tell you now - pics just can't do this piece justice.

Major fixing and fussing in setting it up, but well worth it. :rock
