When I reminisce of old school wrestling, I think of Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior and Macho Man. RIP.

Exactly. THOSE three guys WERE wrestling. Esp being from Calgary I'd also add Brett to that list. And to a lesser extent Jake the Snake.

But It was always the two equally matched biggest wrestlers of all time in my eyes growing up. Hulk Hogan and Macho Man were the biggest stars of all time. Macho's career wrapping early probably lessened that legacy from a cross-generation thing.

I hate this because he was young-ish. Retired. remarried. Happy. No drugs, coke, pain killers... just an accident. I'm sure the steroids did not help his heart though.

It always seem to be the most surprising that kick the bucket totally out of theblue. Who would expect Macho Man, guys like Test, Mr. Perfect, Benoit (different story but still) Eddie etc. when Ric Flair is still wrestling and Hogan won't give it up after 8 back surgeries. And look at guys like Scott Hall and Jake the Snake who are still wrestling and are complete messes...

It makes me think guys like Edge, Steve Austin have had a lucky break getting hurt young, they have a chance to let their bodies heal.

Man I can't believe Macho Man is dead :( what the hell?

Man, I was just snapping it to a Slim Jim the other day thinking about Macho Man and how awesome he is!

The world just got a bit less cool today :lecture
Funny that the last few times I went to Target for groceries, I went down the toy aisle solely looking for the new Macho Man WWE figure. His is the only figure I wanted from that line.

I remember seeing Macho Man walking through a mall back in the 80s when he was at the height of his popularity. People where rushing up to him asking for autographs...and he totally ignored all of them. It was awesome! :rock

So sad. Loved me some Macho Man. Every time I'd see a Slim Jim me and my dad would just look at each other and go "oooooooh yeahhhhhhhhhh!"

Just read about this a few minutes ago.

I'll never forget watching him as a child and painfully trying to reproduce some of his moves.

RIP big guy. Thanks for the fun times. You rock. :rock

Randy Savage was probably my favorite wrestler. This week has really sucked.

I know I'm getting redundant, but watch MM in WM III vs Ricky the Dragon. THE FIRST great match I ever saw. He was actually graceful as a wrestler at times in that match.

I had the Defining Moments Macho Man figure in my hands a couple weeks back at Zellers which is becoming Target here soon. I might go back and see if it is still there.
