NECA is certainly coming up strong these days, deffinately giving McFarlane some strong competition in that style of figure. As for the music, I'm right with ya DA, I really hope they release the score for sale, I'll deffinately want to add it to my collection of Halloween albums :)

This Fall would be a good time for Sideshow to release a PF Michael Myers (or two...original and new versions).

I just got a new mask today....:rock

DA, what's the difference between that mask and the one you've shown before?

Well, the first mask I had.. It was the H2 version. Made to look more round like it did in that film. Dick Warlock played Myers in that one and the mask was fastened around his head with velcro in the back and was severely rotting and worn. The hair had gone damn near blonde, back to the Kirk color. Also the white paint had started to come off in places and the skin color underneath was showing through a bit. So the look was still nearly the same, but a bit more round and filled out.

The new mask is made to look like the original one, white faced, brownish black hair and a lot less worn. Not to mention it looks like the mask worn by Nick Castle in the film, hanging down and showing a lot of the detail in the cheeks. Only Myers freaks like myself really notice the subtle differences....

To me they were the best looks in the films, the rest just looked off and not Kirk-ish enough for me. Though I have to say I really like the new design of the remake. It's close enough for my taste and leagues ahead of what has been done for the last 6 films. :lol

Here's the H2 mask again... on the right.

Believe me DA, I'm a MM freak too :) and in drawing Michael a few times, I came to know the details of the mask well, including that the frayed hair of the original film went more cleanly to the head in H2, and the rounder traits you speak of. Congrats on your score. Just curious, is it a rare item or is it available somewhere like the Warlock version you gave me a link to before? That's what I really meant by difference, the details of the collectible, not the film appearances. I agree that Zombie's mask is the best since H1 & H2, before that, I'd have wagered H20 or H8 as the best of the sequels.

Sorry about that man... I should have remembered how much of a Myers fan you were yourself...:monkey3

It's really rare, only made available through the Cemetary Gates Productions Forum. It's called the St Nick, couldn't remember how many were made... But it's a really amazing mask. Can't wait to take some wicked costume shots.

It's all good, now is it the mask, or the photo, the H1 mask seems a bit smaller than the H2? I'd settle for the Warlock, it's still the better Myers look of all the films but for H1 and way better than anything else you can buy as a collector.

All this Halloween fever has me thinking, I've said before I want to see a new 1/6 Michael from Sideshow from the original film that looks exactly like the Kirk mask, but now I am also wanting to see a nice Loomis figure, Donald Pleasance had so much character in his face, I think he'd be a great looking sculpt/figure, and a JLC Laurie would be nice too.

I agree with you on all accounts. The St Nick is nice, but nothing really beats the Warlock to me... That mask is the pinnacle for Myers masks out there. Best you can get, for sure.

And I do sincerely hope we get a good Myers from SSC, and a Loomis would be amazingly awesome. He really lent a lot of character and tone to the film series, great actor. Would love to have a figure of him, that's for sure. Maybe an alternate burnt head or something? :rock

From what I've been reading and hearing Robs Halloween looks like its gonna be really good and a must see for fans (like me) of the Halloween series. The Neca figure is a must and he will go on my shelf with the rest of my Michael figs.

Nice pics!! Saw a lot of those on his Myspace page. Oh, and check out this little bit of inside info from the man himself. Makes you even more excited for the film...

"Why Halloween?"

"Well, this past weekend at Fangoria I got asked the question Why Halloween? I answered the question, but I really didn't go into any real depth. So I thought I would give you a little more info on why I followed up The Devils's Rejects with Halloween.
After Rejects I really didn't know what was next. I had been briefly attached to several projects but nothing seemed right. Rejects was a movie very close to my heart and I didn't want to just jump on the next project in haste. So anyway one day I get a call from Bob Wienstein's office saying Bob would like to have a meeting. I figured okay, sure whatever. Another meeting. I figured it would lead to nothing as most of these things do.
So Bob throws out the idea of Halloween at me. Now I've always been a huge fan of the original, but not so much the sequels and I figure that Bob means another sequel. Well, this doesn't interest me at all. In fact none of this really interested me. I figured Michael Myers had run his course and his best days were far, far behind him.
So, I left the meeting figuring I'd call back later and tell them I wasn't interested. Then I started to retink the whole thing. I mean Michael Myers is a great characte, a horror icon, much like Frankenstein and Dracula. How could I pass this up? But a sequel? A prequel? A crazy Freddy vs Jason thing? No way. I had to start fresh and breath new like into Michael's old bones.
I thought the only way to do this is to start over. I hate to use this word but a re-imagining was the only way to go. In the past I've hated the idea of this, but then I thought what a close minded way to think. I was basing my thoughts on remakes I hated, not the ones I loved - The Thing, Scarface, Cape Fear, The Fly and on and on.
And so began Michael's journey back. Only this time Michael is the star. It's all about Michael and his life. Many have feared that by explaining him, that you make him less scary. First of all I don't think Michael could get less scary than the way he's been treated in the last bunch of films. Seriously, do you?
Besides I don't explain it. We get great insight into Michael's life, but nothing explains why he is pure evil. Nothing could. As you will see Dr. Loomis wasted most of his life trying to figure this out and he couldn't. To quote the doctor himself, "The darkest souls are not those which exsist within the hell of the abyss, but those which break free of the abyss and move silently among us".
I think Tyler Mane has done an absolutely incredible job as Michael. He will proudly stand side by side with the originals. He is not here to replace them, but to join them. Who's a better Dracula? Bela Lugosi or Christopher Lee? Who knows? Who cares? All I can say is thank God we got them both.
Hopefully that answers the question."

Tyler Mane has confirmed that he has signed on to play Michael Myers again. This will make him the only actor to play Myers twice in a row. George Wilbur played Myers in 4 and 6.

Tyler Mane confirmed this at Monster Mania 8.:D

Those stills look really sweet! Correct if I'm wrong, as I really haven't been keeping up, but is the mask still based off the original Shatner mask? It looks like it to me, but I'm no expert.

It's meant to be close to the Shatner mask, but also intended to look more worn in and rugged from time, which it certainly does, and in ways, makes him look more badass.
