Im not talking about products, Im talking about the names of the predators and other such details.

Im not talking only about the names. Read my god damn post !
Plus for me anyways, watching the movie and seeing a certain predator I immediately think of its nickname. So it is a part of the movie and character.

Your screen name is what...Fox, but spelled with a 'w', a 'k', an 's' and a 3 instead of an 'e'?

I should judge you just based on that, right?

Oh well we might as well then call the predator "Mr. Super Gay". Its not like anyone cares anyway. (I do a little but it aint killing me...)
And my name doesnt contain the letter "o".

Well, would you call him Black Super Predator? Because that was his name.

His name is Mr. Black. It's honestly not that bad of a name. It's kinda funny.

It's no worse then Celtic, Scar, Chopper, Wolf, or Chet. I dont even understand why we're argueing about this. Pick something better to hate on please...:lol

I mean, I know i'm coming accros as the Predatard fanboy, but i'm just getting a tad annoyed with all this hate for the sake of hate.

If you want to hate on the story, or something go ahead...but names? Casting an acadamy award winning actor? The wounds on the Predator? :gah a million times.

Oh yeah...it's killing you.

You can't stop focusing on the "name" of the Predator.

So much so, that it's going to affect the way you watch the movie. :lol

My case in point was that a nickname given to the predator by the studio is a small part of the movie. If you want to argue that, go ahead.

Otherwise, the conversation drifted off when Sabres here disagreed with my opinion on the names. I dont feel like I would have expressed any hate though.. :)mad::mad::mad:)

:lol

Really, who gives a s%^$ about the names...they will likely not be used in the film and only exist to differentiate them for us fanboys. So time to move on.

No one cares about the names in the film. Not sure why people keep focusing on that!? The reason it was brought up in this thread is because it carried over from the SS teaser of their new Bio. Which IS labeled with that retarded "Mr. Black" nickname.

:lecture This is so correct.
I don't think the Pred's name,
Mr. Black, is going to have any
effect on the movie. It won't effect the
plot, action, or anything else about it.

just my 2 cents worth

Granted...I'll give you that they could have definately come up with something better.

But, they didn't...oh well.

Didn't they name all the animatronics in Jurassic park too or alien being big chap? Hell I didn't even know predators had name till I got into hot toys.

Well as a on-set nickname it's fine. Like Celtic mentioned the on-set nickname for the Predalien was "Chet". Again, on-set that's fine.

The difference is, when the merchandise was released that creature was called "The Predalien". It wasn't called "Chet". :lol

But for some reason (at least for Sideshow) the first piece they're releasing IS labeled "Mr. Black" which uses the on-set nickname.

That's the problem.

This has to do with merchandise and absolutely nothing to do with the movie. Like I said earlier, this discussion spilled over from another thread. It really has no impact on the film. I don't recall ANY Predator/Alien movie where the creatures designated names (Official or on-set nicknames) were used in the film. For example, ALL the Lost Hunter's (even including that name of "Lost Hunter's") were fan based nicknames.

For me the "Mr. Black" nickname sounds a lot like it's just a person and not a predator. "Black Predator" or "Big Black Predator" would sound cooler IMHO. Haha!
