Super Freak
whoa, a whole lotta flaming going on around here! lemme add some more fuel to the fire.
y'know, the film's creature designers may have every right to take some liberties with the predator physiology, but what they did with the super-pred/mr. black broke the basic rules. no matter how different a certain species may look on the surface, the basic skeletal structure is always consistent (deformities don't count). designing mr black minus the "crown" is like depicting a gorilla without its signature steep forehead, and making it say, a flat-top frankenstein-like shape.
the yautja species' crown is part of its skeletal structure, so unless mr black is severely deformed like the elephant man or is a genetically-manipulated sub-species (remains to be seen but unlikely), the new crown-less design is just plain wrong. and that's nothing to do with taste or aesthetics. this may sound like fanboy nitpicking but its really just creature design 101.
