Just to emphasize my point...

FOX had Photobucket delete EVERYTHING from my PB folder, save for a few mag covers and the posters.

This included everything that has been out for months, and pics I took myself at Wonderfest.

It's crap on FOX's part.

No it's not. It's simple enforcement of copyright law. Technically, ANYONE who posts or hosts images owned by another entity is supposed to get permission to do so legally. People are actually lucky that Fox is one of the few companies that actually enforces their intellectual property rights online. You may not like it, but it's certainly their legal and ethical right to do so.

And it could have been worse. Photobucket could have shut down/closed your account completely and you could have also received a legal Cease & Desist from Fox attorneys. I wouldn't tempt fate by trying to make them the bad guys. Just shrug it off and move on with a lesson learned.

Sigh...once again, I know it's their right.

The issue is, they took EVERYTHING down.

Including pics I TOOK. Which, by legal rights, they have no right to do.

That, and they're allowing other sites to stay up.
But, again, thanks for just repeating everything that's been said before.

So helpful.

:lol Quit being so chippy, dude. No need for that. :dunno

And if the pictures you took had any of their IP in them (even Hot Toys figures based on their characters) then they have a right to remove those as well. In fact, they can have any in that directory taken down as part of your violation of terms and copyright infringement. Fox and Paramount used to shut entire sites down completely just for posting an image or two. That's the law.

And I'm sure there are others still up. They can't identify and remove all of them in one fell swoop. Many more will eventually be found and/or reported and Fox will move to have something done with them as well. It is what it is, man.

See, the problem with that is the pics were taken at a public function.

These were released by Nicotero for everyone that attended Wonderfest.

And no, they can't have everything taken down in that directory, only what violates their copyright.
I've already cleared that.

Anyway...I'm done with it.
I have the pics on my pc, and can just enjoy them at my leisure.

I'll just reload them after the movies release.

As should we all :).

But if more people have uploaded these, FOX is gonna be pissed... Then again, it might get so out of control that they won't be able to shut everything down, and soon these pics will be everywhere -- just like the first spoilers we saw.

I was wondering how your english got so good all of a sudden, but then I realized your not taylerdurdem(the custom P1 bio guy):slap:lol

who da heck is taylerdurdam?? :slap

there can only be one tylerdurden. and that is me.

i easily buy the adaptation/evolution/subspecies reasoning... if you were an alien, you wouldnt know these two are of the same species:

0405dogs.jpg

well, the dog comparison is certainly visually arresting. however, it still goes back to my point about the underlying skeletal structure. as different as dalmations, chihuahuas and/or bulldogs may be on the outside, and aside from the size diff, their basic skeleton is pretty much the same, save for some minor variations. on the other hand, mr black is missing an entire portion of his skull where the traditional predator crown is. that's a radical structural difference that neither diet nor environment can affect. and neither will evolution, unless you're talking evolution along a completely separate path, ala neanderthals and modern humans. but that also means mr black and his ilk are not strictly yautja but an off-shoot species. in which case that sucks too.

(again, as a caveat, lemme just state for the record that these speculative "rules" of evolution are just for fun, so please don't hold me to it) :D

i'm willing to concede that if the changes are due to genetic manipulation or ritual scarring/deformation, then the look is justified. but certainly NOT acceptable in my book, from an aesthetic perspective. it's just crap-ugly (based on the set pics). i seriously hope and pray that they'll look better in the film, but somehow i doubt it...

Ahem... as a fellow Malaysian? (with a doctorate in Genetics, Biology..)

As varied as dogs are in their physical appearance/size, they also vary in the adult skeletal structure. However a point in which all dogs and wolves are similar is at the fetal stage till they are born. Dogs varies in their (adult) skeletal structure even more between breeds than if comparing a breed to a totally unrelated species from the order of Canivora. So if your take the classic taxonomy approach by classifying species based on morphology, you may by mistake classify different breeds as different species (without prior knowledge).

The main cause of wide variation in dogs is that selective breeding that emphasise genes that would normally be recessive, silencing genes, and continuing mutations that has desirable traits that would normally take no precedence in normal evolution. All these traits contribute changes in morphology, behaviour and other biological aspects.

Although these genetic changes cause large variation, the chromosomal number and structure remains relatively intact for dogs and wolves. This is why breeds can inter-breed and you can classify dogs (to a certain extend wolves as well) as a single species. New studies have shown that Neanderthals have assimilated into mordern humans too.

So if predators follow earth's Mammalian genetics, large variations (skeletal and others) in predators are possible for essentially one species.

I'm willing to bet the movie will screw-up other aspects of biology... but not on the point of different looking predators.

It's a monster movie people. Not much thought is put into them. There's a monster, it kills people then dies, roll credits.

True!!! But they need to look good before they die so that the figures look good on our shelves right? :banana

to make this evolution things more complicated...
this predators were intelligently designed. that's why.:rotfl

exactly. at the very least, these guys just have to look cool. this new film fail at this very basic level. i mean, how hard to it is to make a pred look cool?

like i said, highschooler's sketchbook... highschooler's sketchbook... that's where rodriquez found the designs from. i only wish they more than make up for it in the story department.

The shape of the head change is graspable. Think of it this way:
If all our babies were born by abdominal delivery, the head size, and maybe even the shape of our heads could change by average. This is simply referring to the change in birth conditions. So it is, in that way, possible by evolution.

Im not saying this is why the new predators dont have a crown, dont take it that way. But what Im trying to say is that it could be possible by simple evolution.

But who cares, the new design IMHO isnt good anyway. They should've kept the crown.

Great disappointment...i'v seen a ton of resin kit about any kind of pred...Rodriguez ! COPY one of them!

What i don't understand is, if Mr.Black doesn't have a crown then why does his bio need that additional rim? :dunno

Well yeah. I just mean serious discussions using real world logic/biology/physics when it comes to a monster movie is pointless. Because you're just over-analyzing something that wasn't over-analyzed when it was created. Movie monsters are created with aesthetics in mind first and foremost. Whether or not they could actually exist isn't even a factor.

Not unless "Big headed babies" (that requires C-section/abdominal birth) is somehow more advantageous in life and able to breed more successfully than a "Small headed baby" through normal delivery.

Or... best of both...
"Big headed baby" and "Big/extended va.gi.na" mother, that's more prolific in life and breeds more. Both traits would be passed on.
