Not unless "Big headed babies" (that requires C-section/abdominal birth) is somehow more advantageous in life and able to breed more successfully than a "Small headed baby" through normal delivery.

Or... best of both...
"Big headed baby" and "Big/extended va.gi.na" mother, that's more prolific in life and breeds more. Both traits would be passed on.

The changes in head shape could lead to higher intelligence. Im not saying that head size is directly connected to intelligence, but this kind of change in birth could lead to the change in headshape/brain complexity and therefore intelligence. Plus I should mention that "able to breed more successfully" has nothing to do with it.
Its not something I thought by myself, its just something I've heard. And it makes sense.

like i said, highschooler's sketchbook... highschooler's sketchbook... that's where rodriquez found the designs from. i only wish they more than make up for it in the story department.

I drew a version of what the Super Pred might look like...and it didnt look like THAT....:lol

But what you guys are forgetting is, these Predators, changed themselves. It isnt Evolution. They messed with their DNA to make themselves stronger, and more powerful. By doing so, they became deformed, and more messed up in the head.

Whatever the back story is, doesn't change the fact that the design sucks.

The Super Pred looks bad ass with his bio helm on.
Not so wild about his face, but he's a must buy.

:rock I like all the bios, Super Pred face is different but hay it is not terrible! It's something new aswell not just going over dead ground as so many films do of this genre type.

My dear fellow the very nature of evolution is in passing on favourable traits to the next generation... whether by sexual or asexual "breeding"...

p.s. I lecture on Molecular Genetics...

Yeh I know, but seems like the thread has derailed a tad with all this evolution talk.

An example of Robert Rodriguez's biological baseless script.

What weapons do the Preds have in this film?

I mean I know they have wrist blades and plasma canon, but anything new or special?

I dont think the possible minor change in intelligence and in the head shape would change much in the breeding of our species. The very nature of evolution is indeed in passing on favourable traits to the next generation, and I believe intelligence is one of them.

p.s. Is that what you tell your students in class when they dont agree with you?

I think one of them has a UAV type of thing. I was reading about in in empire magazine. It is either mechanical, alive or both.

It took me ages reading all of the posts I missed and finding what page I last viewed :lol

Hahaha! I had to Mr. Hicks. It was too perfect.

Anyway...here is the exact passage in the script describing the Super...fits well with the design I must say...

Think Predator gone terribly wrong. A mutated version. No
nose. Oversized mandibles. Slimy reptilian skin. Red eyes
full of venom and hate

One big ol blade, super mini gun plasmacaster...dogs, and falcons. Not much, but gets the job done.

I was thinking before how much worse this could have turned out. We could have ended up with predator kids and ridiculous things like that with the way that the avp movies were going. :rotfl
