But sometimes there's a pic or something in there just to be shortened.

Eh, it's all good. BUT NO MORE :D!

The P1 and BSP fight before the Royce/BSP fight...and the P1 gets his spine ripped out by the BSP.

Yeah, I see where you're coming from with that.

I'm sure some are going to be REALLY disappointed about the classic Pred's role in this movie.

Does the classic Predator just get destroyed and that's the end of him or do we get to see some of his brethren return for revenge in the end? I'd like to see this, but I'm sure that's probably not what happens.

Yeah, I'm thinking the really big picture beyond the folks that read up on every detail and will go see this movie based on photos and trailers, if they don't know the full details, they're going to build some false expectations. Of course, if the film delivers enough that despite not being what people expected, it's still good, it won't bite FOX in the ass, but if the film lacks and the expectations not being met bothers enough people, it will. If I were FOX I wouldn't have played it this way, it's a 50/50 shot of it coming back to haunt them, with the franchise already shake, those aren't good odds.

No, you're probably not going to see any other Preds besides the ones we've seen already. RR stated in an interview at Wonderfest that the scene of Royce with all the laser sights on him was "enhanced" just for the trailer.

I agree. They should have stuck with focusing on the new Preds.
That way, the classic Pred would have been just a cool "nod" for the fans.
Which is really what it's meant to be anyway.

Oh I see. I was thinking all those laser sights might have been a hint at more normal Predators showing up. Thanks Sabres.

End of Boba Ben spoiler posts.

@MaulFan: True, true. But they've also announced a possible Alien prequel (in 3D, which is more-commonly known as an excuse to put out a crap movie -- EXCEPT for Avatar, of course). If Ridley Scott's heading it, it ought to be good. I guess FOX is really into taking chances.

I thought all of this stuff I posted was common knowledge in this thread. :rotfl

Now, there is a rumor of one of those "after the credits" surprises in the movie.
So, be sure and stay for that.

I didn't want to ruin anything for some of the people that want to be totally surprised, although they probably shouldn't be here if that's the case. Some people really freak out when they see a little spoiler without a tag, so I like to play it safe.

I know they're trying to reboot these franchises, and I applaud that, I just fear that with Predator at least (Alien's yet to be marketed so who knows what they'll do with that franchise), they're taking a risk playing up a fan service role in PREDATORS presenting it almost like the focal part of the story. I can just see some people seeing these images and getting all excited to see a new Predator movie with the original Predator back, thinking it's going to be as big a part of PREDATORS as it was the original film, but it's not going to be, and unless the film is still strong despite not being that, it's going to let people down.

It's like baseball, the Predator and Alien franchises have 2 strikes on them thanks to AVP and AVPR, if the respective reboots fail, I see it as strike 3 and game over, and if I were the studio trying to get these potential cash cows back into good standing, I'd think every little bit through to how it could backfire and not set the films up for trouble. If the marketing for PREDATORS focused on the unique characters and creatures of this movie only, then the movie would need only be a solid movie to succeed, but by pushing the P1 angle, there's pressure for this movie to be the next Predator 1 now with some people, and if it isn't, those fans will be lost. It's an avoidable situation, but they made the wrong choice.

Yeah, that's why I put some of that bigger spoiler stuff in tags...just to be safe.

It's your call, but it's a spoiler thread so if you post something as a regular comment, if someone complains then they should be more careful what thread they enter, that's why the spoiler comment is in the title.

Movies like this tend to have the majority of fans looking into everything like scripts and stuff and wanting to talk about it all and 100 pages of spoiler tag posts would get old, so better just to make a spoiler thread and let people openly post.

AVP:R grossed triple it's budget and AVP almost triple it's budget. Both were financially successful. How are they "Strikes"?

Duly noted.

Spoiler tag free from now on.

Royce lives, Izzie lives, every other human dies, every Predator dies. Royce kills BSP, and BSP kills classic. For the win.

Meh. I think that whole thing is just lame. UNLESS they re did the script, and made it work. But as it stands? Blah.
