Wow guys!!! So flattered by the amazing support and fantastic feedback from all you great guys and gals...thank you so much as ever, I'll promise to get back to each of your replies as it's the least I can do as a way of saying thanks really glad you like the base...so much of the credit really goes to my friend who sculpted it...all I did was send him the dimensions to work with by measuring up the droids and making sure it was all in scale

Stand by for another update coming soon which are some teaser pics of my completed Silver Surfer Comiquette, which if you remember from page 427, I was getting fully chromed and having the cosmic trail vamped up with some cool colours well, almost two months later the project is complete and boy...it really does look amazing if I do say so myself

So thanks once again everyone and here are a few more snaps of the droids with the lights on

And a cool sketch I found on Google Images which I though would look really cool with those who have the Regular Version!!

Happy Easter to you too Andy just seen your custom base for your R2 and threepio mate and it complements them perfectly. This is 100% what sideshow should have done for the exclusive. Congratz bro

@ always something on the go thanks so much for kind words Kris...I absolutely love this hobby and am certainly pushing things to the limit with all my pre orders as for updates, well I've got my Silver Surfer chroming project (which has now been completed and shipped back to me from the States) which I'll post some teaser pics some time this week plus I've currently awaiting pics of my G1 Optimus Prime Half Scale statue which is being repainted....so lots to still come buddy

Hey Ski, thanks bud this base was made for me by my talented friend...the same guy who repainted my Iron Man MK42. This infact was his first eve time at sculpting and his talents have just blown me away very lucky to have his work at hand whenever I need it

Thanks Nick no, the exclusive for these guys were the two individual black bases (supposedly Yavin themed also) the sand base was the regular edition which went with the weathered droids

Roberto... That looks FANTASTIC!!! I mean... WOW... It improves the piece so much. I have never been a huge fan of the clean droids. Much of that is due to the seperate bases. But you took care of that. Really amazing. This is about the best I have seen any of the droids look. I like this base better then the Dirty Droid base also. Had this been the original base I might have been tempted to get the EX versions. (Stil don't like the way clean R2 looks though )

That's a great base Andy. Looks like actual granite. Which I suppose might be a way to replicate it. Go to a stone masons and ask them to shape an actual granite off cut?. Just an idea.

I find (and really like) your passion for Dio / bases as much as what you have for the statues. Its a pleasure to see those intricate details and the overall art involved. When a dio becomes a part of the collectible, it gives a whole new meaning to the display.

It totally looks like two different bases made out of two two different materials. The base looks totally amazing!

WOW my friend...thank you so much for kind words...I couldn't agree more with your post regarding how a diorama can give a whole new meaning to the display it can totally bring it life and that's how I love to eventually display my collection one day (if space allows me to) for example, I already have something planned for my Superman PF which has me excited although I will most likely be repainting the base much whiter once it arrives to coincide with my display ideas....more will be revealed once I recieve the damn statue!!!! hahaha

Then I've had my G1 Optimus Prime half scale statue repainted also which should be completed in another week I'd say...plus I'm having a third custom head being made for my Predator statue which will be battle damaged, similar to that of the Hot Toys version...and not forgetting the Batman PF custom Stan Lee Headsculpt which should be arriving in two weeks so lots of mini projects going on in terms of custom work.

As for Sideshow, still waiting for my Superman PF EX...those inhand pics look great by the way like you, still waiting for Punisher PF (plus the Spazzy custom weapons should be ready a round the same time too which I'm looking forward to). So just those two PFs should be arriving next...

Looking forward to tomorrow and PO'ing the Green Hulk EX

I might just order the Green tomorrow just incase I regret not having a Classic Green Hulk in my collection plus the Ex is vital to me on that one because I just don't like the Reg HS. I've heard Sideshow are indeed making a new Fett PF Steve I've got the droids PF and a Stormtrooper PF in my collection...all I'm holding out for is a new Vader...whether it be half scale or another PF, it will be mine
