Hey Chris Yea, the XM is more of a classic museum pose but at the same time its still quite versatile as you can use the switch out arm to create something more dynamic. However, i'm actually really digging the new Sideshow MK42 and they've nailed the correct colour scheme for suit too which was a massive thing for me after having to repaint the Iron Studios version

I have heard some bad things about this, like you said the sloppy black lines here and there and some say that the color isn't metallic but matt or dull. Nevertheless, I look at your pics and think it looks amazing and I think people that think this sucks are just nit picking. Well done on getting such a great purchase.

BTW how come you didn't post a pic of the RDJ portrait?

Thanks Steve Yea, i would'nt go as far as saying it was dull paint apps...i think the Iron Patriot was far worse in my opinion but this one just looks awesome when all lit up

So to briefly summarise, here's how i scored the 3 Iron Man MK42 1/4 scale statues currently on the market:

Iron Studios 6/10

*Great pose and bonus .5 for light features otherwise i would have given it a 5.5/10. Sadly let down by poor paint application :

My gosh Andy, if my IS would look like that, I wouldn't have a single complaint to do against it!!! Your repaint (I've said it many times, but this truly deserved to be repeated again and again) is AMAZING!!!! I want it!!! Not the pure crap I have in front of me every day.... argggg!!!!

Your MK42 pics helps me to wait... but the 2-3 months delay will be long...

I really like this piece. My fave of the bunch. Pose looks decent and looks ace lit up

Light features are Radd on this piece Matt...definately recommend buying...plus there is no Exclusive so you'd be able to pick one up locally

Hey all, just to complete my Iron Man 3 movie statue display, here's a few pics of the Sideshow MK42 Maquette displayed next to the Sideshow Iron Patriot...and if you look closely you'll be able to see a custom forearm missile launcher as a nice little touch to really help bring out the pose a lot more So much has been said about these particular pieces in regards to poor QC (Iron Patriot especially) and rightly so too as there have been so many pics shown on the forums and facebook groups of some horrendously painted ones...but i must say that whilst mine is far from being perfect, i'm actually really happy to have it in my collection Hope you enjoy the pics and thanks for looking
