Right now the new Robo could go either way. I want it to be good, and I want to like it, yes. What kind of an idiot wants to be disappointed? I've got my 4K original and free ticket for the new one. I'm set. All I'm hoping is that it'll be as good as Robo 2, which most people here (you included IIRC) will say sucks anyway. So I'm okay if it's "bad," as long as it's my kind of bad. R3 is NOT my kind of bad, its wretched and one of the few movies I'd actually like to "unsee."
All I know is that you're clearly a closet R3 lover and have probably sold off half of your Joes to fund Enterbay's $600 tribute to that "movie."

Does it hold a candle to the first film? No. But I didn't hate RoboCop2 at all. I don't think the technology was there at the time to do what they wanted to do, but the story is very much Frank Miller, and being a fan of his work, I can definitely appreciate it for what it is.

Same here. I was like, "welp, it's going to be terrible" after seeing the training clip. After these last couple now though, I don't know what to think. The dream sequence is kind of sad when the illusion starts to fall apart and reality sets in with the Sinatra music. Then the banter between Keaton and Oldman seems quite good.
If anything, Keaton, Oldman and Jackson should make this "worth" it. It definitely seemed like Keaton was channeling a bit of his old craziness and energy that I thought he didn't have anymore. A prelude to Beetlejuice hopefully? Seems like he was channeling that a bit along with the whole "doesn't give a ****" business tycoon.
As for Robocop himself, I just can't tell what's going on anymore. Is he a man in a suit or is he actually a machine that thinks he's human? From the clips, Keaton and the other villains refer to him as "it" and the whole hand and "make it human" thing seems like it's just a publicity stunt.
When Robocop talks there, he sounds like a drone, a mindless cyborg. Then in other scenes, he just sounds like Alex Murphy? I dunno. Supposedly there were screenings last night and,
Robocop's hand, face and skin are all fake. All of his limbs can be taken off and he's 90% cyborg.
The Oldman character makes it sound like there's a humanity there (a man in a suit), while the Keaton character makes it sound like he's just one of those drones with implanted memories. Is it like the original or what? And judging by what people are saying about the ending and how the black suit is a bit of a parody, I think this might be his final look at the end,
Behind him in the monitor you can see his old 1.0 body with the red lights and different shoulder armor when he was training. This one looks like the merging of all three.

I mean...ED-209 was supposed to be wrong build and softwared garbage but even HE didn´t deserve being hacked by a kid.
I mean...come on...and a flyin´cyborg...
Ouh, just thinkin about it...god...

you know what? I wanted to say: "For the fun of it, go ahead", but this thing is so bad...just keep it unwatched.
Watch 1+2, maybe read Miller's 9 part comic and then you got the best and look forward to the new.
Yeah, looks just like a video game. Fast moving **** all over the damn place. I can't follow it. Robocop isn't the only one though, this has been evident in the ASM 2 trailer (Electro boss fight), MoS (bam, BOOM, punch each other into buildings!) and ALL of the Hobbit movies so far. Robocop wishes he could move like Bombur and Legolas.
The ADD crowd is gonna love it though. "HOLY ****, shoots guy with tazer, high flying motorcycle jump, TAKES OUT TWO ED'S AT ONCE". Maybe it's just me, maybe I'm too old.
