Re: Robocop....making a comeback?

Yep, I think they're going for "flare" and they're going to come up with "fail".

Kuzeh is probably right, they're probably trying to push the TJ Lazer angle, but he shouldn't need a naked hand to do that.

No, he shouldn't:

yeah I mean what other reason can they have for the human hand? that is the only reasonable reason for more stupid that it seems. I cannot think of another reason for it.

Re: Robocop....making a comeback?

The hand makes no sense. There needs to be a circulatory system, a nervous system to keep the hand alive. The elbow joint shows there is no organic arm connected to the hand.

The engineering to keep the hand alive makes the arm 1) more expensive 2) weaker. A robot hand is impervious to pain and has a stronger grip. A real hand is a weak link in the chain.

It looks dumb having a hand at the end of the arm.

And the idea of different suits blows. He's not Suitcop, he's Robocop. He's a small pile of meat and a head inside a robot shell. He doesn't change clothes for special occasions.

No, it will hit Bravo first.

I agree with EVERYTHING you said! The concept sucks no matter what color they make him.

Removed. :gah:

Re: Robocop....making a comeback?

Yep, every vid was removed. Not that I care much... :lol

Re: Robocop....making a comeback?

Or to frap off with his concealed member. Yep this one doesn't just have a hidden gun holster...

Re: Robocop....making a comeback?

battle of the suits!? i bet he's the special ONE, for having that *** hand.

Re: Robocop....making a comeback?

I assumed the hand was something that would be removed in post... but they left it exposed for some specific scenes. Didn't realize it was part of the design; this thing continues to impress with it's suckitude :lol

And even in the original the talk about how they were able to save one of his arms, but they don't use it since it would limit what they could do with him. So why bother having a hand in the remake :huh

Re: Robocop....making a comeback?

I saw the promo art; is he going to be black and silver? Or just all black? I don't get it.

I'm betting he'll debut in the classic colored scheme for a sequence before they call it "obsolete" and then turn him into black Iron Man for most of/the rest of the movie.

Re: Robocop....making a comeback?

That concept art is the closest this film will ever get. Still sux.

Also, I am perfectly okay with being categorized as an out of touch fogey, but aint nobody gonna fit that role like Weller. He brought in the movement coach, he had the gun-twirling skills, he had the delivery. Robocop can never be duplicated. Screw that noise.

Re: Robocop....making a comeback?

Hate to say it but Robocop was a one hit wonder methinks. Everything but that first film is crap IMO apart from the Robo VS Cain fight in 2.

Yeah, the first film was / is a stand alone classic for multiple reasons - timing in art is huge. :lecture

The rest?

:monkey1 :huh :lol

GET OUT OF HERE WITH YOUR LOGIC!!!!!!

....but yeah, pretty much. The fail is strong with this project, I fear.
