Nice bare hand. :monkey4

Not knowing the context makes it hard to appreciate the hand but it looks fine in that shot. The problem with the black suit is that it is just one of the many elements that screams "guy in a suit." Now if they had made the hand more of a skin glove that clearly was fit *over* his prosthetic wrist then that would be both creepy and potentially cool along the lines of Murphy's face in the original.

Guess they didn't want to upset the kiddies.

Either way that silver transitionary suit I referenced is both mechanical and cool looking. It actually is a bit creepy to see that weird spinal column thing in the front too. Too bad it isn't the final suit.

I'm guessing they're thinking they've got a shot at their own "Iron Man" franchise, hence the A-list supporting cast, PG-13 rating, and multiple "Marks" for extra action figure variants.

I actually love this shot:

And based on that pic alone could even see myself picking up a HT figure of it provided that the movie doesn't suck, they don't insult the original (like with the alleged "cheap 80's toy" comments) and he actually wears that suit for more than five seconds. From what I can tell none of those parameters will be met however.

I actually like how the new ED-209 is reminiscent of the guardian mode from Robotech's hovertanks. But that's only because I like Robotech. As an ED-209 it fails. :lol

Cuz he wearing rubbish suit.
No srsly, the only robotics in there are one arm and one leg, everything else is ironmanish armor.

When was that confirmed? When Weller was placed on the operating table he had one whole arm and both legs intact.

I could've sworn it was confirmed by a Freak who caught an advanced showing, that he was left whole vs. being entirely replaced like Weller's.

He can't has human hand w/ rest of the arm being removed :dunno
So if his arm is untouched and his head isn't just "face and portions of brain" one can easilly assume that there's working body under the suit.

He can't even wear that helmet without looking like a weird balding amish robot.

Well if that's true then I agree its pretty stupid. Might as well just call him RoboLeg if that's all he is.

Actually thinking back to the trailer I believe there's a close-up of two robotic skeletal legs walking which I assumed were his. So I'm guessing they do go with the full prosthesis (minus the hand) in the new one too.

Considering his right leg opens up and has room for a very large gun I'm thinking his real legs were amputated as well.

It's not explicitly said in Robocop ('87) but I always imagined OCP discarded every possible part of Murphy they didn't need. I pictured a pile of meat and portions of a head. Most of his vital organs could be replaced with more efficient and reliable mechanical parts (including a Jarvis Sport Series heart.)

Yep. "Full body prosthesis."
