It's a shame. I doubt there'll even be little attention paid to details like when Murphy gets up, staggering around in shock, and he has the bloodstain on his forehead from where he put his head in a puddle to push himself up. It's the little gritty realism like that, that the original has, that still makes an impact when watching the film.

The way this film is looking, you might be right.
It just doesn't feel like a movie where they would give time to small details.

It was weird hearing someone call him Alex.

Yeah, its like a SNL version of Robocop, it seems they missed the whole point of Robocop with Murphy's humanity coming out > the programming, why bother with story, just make some **** up and call it Robocop and call it a day. Looks like zero heart involved in this production.

Oh yeah. Even little things like Clarence flinching authentically to the heat of the explosions caused when they're goofing around with the Cobra Assault Rifles just on account of them actually BEING real explosions done in frame and in one take.

Especially since that one trailer made such a show of "he's rejecting the programming!!!" Of course he is, he's apparently just a regular cocky dude.

After that video, I immediately put this on. Still one of my favorite shootout scenes ever.

Fun fact: Prior to its theatrical release the studio screened the original RoboCop to an audience of all police officers because they were concerned over offending law enforcement by showing Murphy reading Clarence his miranda rights while throwing him through multiple plate glass windows. But when that scene occurred all the officers cheered because it was something they've always wanted to do. :lol :rock

:( that's Hollywood in general nowadays. Soooooo tired of the explosions where some dumb full CGI door, tire, person, car, what-have-you, flies past the hero and his fan-blown hair as he reacts before the item even appears. :lol

Haha, thats awesome.

Really, Detroit today is worse than Detroit from the movie.

Detroit should embrace that statue, get their city back to the good old days from Robocop 1 :lol

OMG yes :rotfl They basically bulldozed the outer few miles since there was blocks and blocks of burn out homes and no electricity.

Okay I watched that clip a second time. So it sounds like the drones are firing regular bullets but "Maddox" or whatever the guy's name is is firing the funky EMP rounds.

Something else that jumped out at me is the fact that Maddox obviously thinks that the new Robo is a joke. He's not intimidated at all and is just as cocky as his cybernetic adversary. Remember when Weller Robo first arrived at the police station? Everyone crapped their pants just hearing his footsteps coming down the hall. You'd think a mechanical t-rex just entered the building. Cops and criminals alike were freaking out. Watching him walk, talk, fire his gun. And this new Robo comes on the scene and even the characters in the *movie* think he's a joke? Why should the audience feel any differently? I'm sure "Alex" is going to beat down the drones and put Maddox in his place but you've really got to wonder why they set him up as a pushover who needs to prove himself in robot form.

Bob Morton would be proud. :lol
