What I find hilarious, look at those two armors.

One is a joke to them. The one that's, you know, iconic and has a statue going up in Detroit, action figures, the one that carried Robocop for 25 years.

The one that isn't, the black one they think is "so much better", isn't nearly as well constructed. Look at the way the seems line up under his arm on the black suit. That's a shot from the actual movie. They aren't even flush. Looks like a comic con costume for a human knight rider power ranger nerd dream crossover.

It seems to me they've replaced the visceral thrill of the original with slick "shiny objects" to try and sucker folks in. Obviously, the big elephant in the room is the hard edge that many of us loved about the original, which was an R movie and the copy is a PG13.

IMO it sucks that they didn't look at what they have; an ultrasleek ninja version of Robocop and run with that, instead of calling it a reboot they should have just said its 30 or 40 years past the original Robocop and that this is what the program had evolved into. Ninja robo just doesn't have that Frankenstein look of a cool new invention, its just too advanced especially when you consider the new movie is during the same time period as the original, which originally was pretty far forward (about 40 years), now its only like 15 years from now. Bleh, the whole remake reaks to me, guess I'll find out when it comes to Blu Ray.

It annoys me knowing that they could have just stuck with the Mark 1 throughout the entire movie instead of going with the black condom final version.

:lol

Looks like he's shooting a Nerf gun :lol

:lol

Looks like ****. :lol

even better. :lol

:exactly:

Watched a trailer, think I'll be checking this out.

At worst it looks like a fun sci-if action-fest

Yeah I'm giving it a chance. I do not in a million years expect a film anywehre near to the original, and that's the best way to look at it.

We'll be there at the cinema along with alllllll the others who claim they 'won't be there' or that they are 'waiting for blu-ray' :wink1:

The chrome version could of made the film bearable at least. But the dual wielding bull **** has GOT to go.

I'm all for the Blu-Ray.

If I get it as a gift (unlikely), I'm more than happy to use it as a drink coaster - or a frizby for my dog. :lecture :lol

I'm curious, do you genuinely think that would've made the film better for you? Because so many people complain when remakes or readaptations are too similar to a previous effort, yet here people seem to be critical of this film because it is trying to be different to the original film, and be it's own movie.

Seems like a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' scenario?

Expect dumbasses calling it an intended mockery of modern industry and so on.

It still will be looked at as dog ****, but maybe not too such a degree it's at.

That's what I loved about the 80s, they marketed an R rated film to adults & children. They weren't strictly going for toy lines back then.

Yes the 70s too, you got to love how there was no fear in saying absolutely anything in those films. Just honest language. I love that one scene in Dirty Harry when they explain why he's called Dirty. No ****ing way that would make it into film nowadays :rotfl Too many uptight pantywaist special interest groups.
