BY ALEX OSBORN Rogue One: A Star Wars Story won't get a sequel, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has confirmed.


In the latest issue of Empire Magazine (via /Film), Kennedy made it clear that regardless of how well Rogue One performs in theaters, the studio has no plans to create a direct follow-up to the upcoming adventure of Felicity Jones' Jyn Erso.


Lucasfilm chief creative officer John Knoll and director Gareth Edwards echoed her sentiment. Edwards suggested the sequel is effectively the original 1977 Star Wars, saying any followup to Rogue One "will be directed by George Lucas."

If it is HUGE it will get a another film with Jyn not a direct sequel- so they are talking in morse code...
Not going to happen since it will not be anywhere near as big as TFA....

I believe it..Felicity seems to always gravitate towards one and done character roles. I've never seen her play the same role twice from one film to the next.

Maybe if Jyn doesn't die and they bring her back later on if it happens, they might use another actress.

I think fans have been waiting for an actual start of the Rebels vs Empire war and not the later half that we saw in the ANH

An episode 5.5. Starring Sebastian Stan as Luke Skywalker with Vader and McDiarmid's Palpatine running around in the background would be on everyone's must-see list that year.
