1. Do they succeed in stealing the Death Star plans?

2. Will the Death Star be destroyed? Or will it be used to destroy hundreds of worlds?

I don't like this "Mary Sue" term. It's like the term "over-the-top"... it gets overused by people wanting to seem in-the-know.

I don't like the term in-the-know either.

I think "Mary Sue" and "Gary Stu" are absolutely ridiculous terms created by internet knuckleheads with far too much time on their hands. JMO.

The film presents a problem in that if an untrained (at least not recently) Rey manages to defeat Kylo Ren as she did, what sense will it make if she gets beaten by him in the next film after she presumably gets training from Luke Skywalker?

It was a mistake to have her win the fight, even considering Ren's injury. He should have been on the brink of defeating her and then maybe Chewie comes to the rescue in the Falcon or that big chasm opens up at just the right time or something. Undermining the primary villain in the very first film could and should have been avoided.

And yeah, one can't help but feel that ''girl power, **** yeah'' was the reason they did it the way they did it. I feel it was misplaced. It was enough that she took him on. No one would have thought less of the character not being able to win this early. In the normal conventions of storytelling that should come later.

My gut tells me he's not the main villain that she will have to overcome!

What do Luke and Snokevader end up doing!

Does Luke go dark?
Does Rey go dark?
Does Kylo go light?
Does Luke die?
Does Snoke die?

Would be kind of silly Snoke being Vader and having Luke save him again, wouldn't that hurt ROTJ emotional climax!?

I bet Snoke wants kylo's body.

Wait...which SW thread is this?

And isn't this the guy who wiped out the rest of Luke's students? Just how did he manage that if he's supposedly such a novice himself?

Anyway, I'm off to bed before someone is wrong on the internet and I get indignant.

As anticlimactic (and unlikely) as it would be, I admittedly delight in the thought of an old Luke fixating on that lightsaber in his senility. She'll be asking for her mission and all he cares about is where she got his weapon. Maybe make him a wacky Yoda-type character. But that won't happen.

Why now when a female is cast in a lead role does everyone bring up the Hunger Games jokes? Just because it's a woman? Does that mean that we're not allowed to like Ripley in Alien now without being mocked?

I don't think it's just because she's a female.

They're discussing what their attributes were at the start of their movies.

Luke, Mclane, Conan, Ripley, Sarah...all gradual increase of heroism and abilities based on hard lessons learned during their journey.

For me Indiana Jones is a Rey!

that's why I thought this is not the Jakku Battle movie with Palm trees and water

It does make sense if this is the film that explains how Leia got the plans of the original Death Star .

My question why would they make a full length feature film about this
