Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

Duel and Sugarland Express were very cool "new director" things for the time though, and it was a very different era.

Colin Trevorrow *directed* Jurassic World. Which.. I enjoyed for it's fun factor.. but it showed no directorial talent whatsoever.
It should have been his "jaws".

At the end of the day anyone who combines Trevor and Tomorrow for their name shouldn't be directing movies. :lol

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

This cannot be true- now EIGHT weeks of reshooting a huge portion of the film ? Well this will be the most expensive SW if that is the case and so much for "no interfering with artistic control" BS JJ was spouting when he shot TFA. Total BS.

This means we are in for highly merchandised family fair that takes very few chances from now on re: SW.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

If the issue was that it was too dark, then I don't know why they need reshoots. Some clever, subtle editing could easily do the job.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

Then again- maybe it is being redone because it was a BAD film...period. :lol

I like JW too, but I guess I'm easy to please.

Duel is my favorite Spielberg, then Jaws, Temple of Doom, Raiders, Minority Report.

How do you not like Raiders of the Lost Ark?

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

Well he likes it better than Minority Report. Which means...almost nothing.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

It was, but no more so than JW.

It was though, it was made for relative pennies and completely original.

Don't get me wrong I enjoyed JW, but it was a paper thin, manufactured bit of nonsense?

I certainly wouldn't compare them cinematically or from a sophistication point of view.

Close Encounters, Poltergeist and Jurassic Park.
