My overall opinion is this figure is so worth the money paid. With that being said, it will make you curse out loud.
Good:
The sculpt - It is so Russell Crowe as the Roman General and I am very pleased with how this looks in hand.
The helmet - Just looks amazing. Great details and a full fan. You will need to scissor some strays as you unpack it, but nothing to bad.
The cloak - It has full 1/6 scale fox fur for the collar that is just beautiful. There is some nice weathering along the bottom that was well done. You will need to iron the cape though as it comes out of the box with some pretty deep creasing from folding.
The body - tight, but not too tight (not nearly like my ACI andrew - I couldn't even budge the arms on that thing). Holds good poses and stands on its own. I use a stand however for all of my figures.
The swords - real metal blades and the scabbards are beautiful. Great paint and sculpting detail. Just awesome.
The attention to details on the uniform - nice paint work and sculpting on the armor. It looks pretty perfect to how I remember it in the movie.
The BAD
The hands and wrist pegs - The hands are poorly executed out of the molds. You can see seams and just not what you expect from ACI who is known for their bodies. The wrist pegs are way too small for the holes that are drilled in the arm. To make this worse they glued them in. I tried to remove both (as you have to, to put on the gauntlets) and broke one peg in the arm. About 15 minutes later I finally got the broken piece out with my Dremel and hot water. To cut corners and use glue instead of getting larger wrist pegs is un-excusable. Do yourself a favor and heat the joints with boiling water or a hair dryer before pulling out and have Hot Toys wrist pegs ready (they work perfect!)
The chest armor - Although it is very nice looking, the way you put it together could have been much better. The rubber tabs(leather looking buckles) look great, but do not do the job as you would expect. You will find that as you are putting it together, you will have to go back and reinsert again and again until you finally have it together. Once you do get it together, the sash and cape hold it together as the tabs were designed to do. The sash you may want to use a water treatment on it to make it not look so "new". I used water to distress the material and make it "roll" a bit and not look like a piece of flat tied fabric around the armor.
The boots - the boots look good enough, but I would have liked to have seen them use a leather like material instead of mold (much like Kaustic Plastik is doing with their new Roman releases). The molded boots don't seem to let the leg armor come far enough down. I will replace these with a pair of Kaustic Plastiks once theirs are out.
Overall I would rate this figure an 8.5 out of 10. It looks absolutely awesome on the shelf and really stands out. With a bit more time and attention to construction details this would no doubt be a 10 out of 10 for me. However, ACI chose not to and there is that let down. You will not regret getting this figure and after you have it together the way you want it on your shelf you will be all that much more pleased.
