Well, I like both shows but I think each one has it's particular "flavor" and that makes them so different in between that it has something for everyone.

The UK Office is hilarious, but Ricky's "Dave" is a complete moron, funny but a moron and a pretty pathetic person, and Steve's "Michael" is a moron but it has some kindness on him so I feel more simpathetical of him.

Both shows rock!, but I'd rather work at the U.S. office and have Michael as my boss, becaus if I had Dave, I'd kill myself!!:lol:lol

I was getting sick of the derailment in the spook thread and this was a nice little block I could lift out.

And the UK Office bored me silly - I hated Gervais' character and it was just uncomfortable to watch. Carrell is hilarious - the US Office has really opened it up and is much funnier.

That's why I moved my comments to the 'Actors I can't stand' thread.

:rock :rock :rock

I wasn't 'bored' by the UK version, but after seeing the US version it pales in comparison. The US version is a superior show in all aspects (cast, writing) despite Gervais' genuis.

The UK version has its charm but the US version is a completely different animal -- a wild, ferocious animal that creeps up to its prey and tickles without mercy again and again.

Couldn't disagree more.

Also, Gervais was supposed to make you feel uncomfortable that's what's funny about it. American's need things to be too point blank to make sense.

I like them both... Though I do think the US version is a bit funnier. Though I think it is owed greatly to Rainn Wilson and John Krasinski. The stuff those characters go through, coupled with Michael's ******* boss... Greatness.

I like them both and I thought Ricky Gervais had something to do with the American version. I do see the British humor in the American version.
In defense of the American version it has been on the air longer and they have had a chance for more character development.

I think Ricky Gervais is a genius but I also think Steve Carell is also a genius. I would love to see them in a movie together.
