I'm not as optimistic for gt characters. I think the new movies and this new series changes things. I'd consider any gt figuarts canned. With Toriyama stepping back into the series, it would only make sense if the line focuses on his dragon ball characters. Dragon Ball Super is a direct sequel to dbz, so all the new figures will support the new series. Imo the line will stick to DBZ and DBS characters.

The new movie didn't change Tamashii's direction. I believe Tamashii planned the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Goku release since October and they've commented about how they have everything laid out for the foreseeable future. If Super Saiyan 4 Goku sells well, Tamashii will continue developing more Dragon Ball GT characters. It may take awhile for them to be released but they'll happen. As for the new series, it'll just be a repeat of Tamashii focusing on Kai. There were characters "out of season" that were released while it was airing.

Speaking of the series, I'm curious to see if there will be new design art for all of the characters.

Exactly, GT characters are still good to go. Just cause a new movie/series comes out doesn't mean the old stuff will be forgotten. The DB universe has TONS of characters to exploit for figures. Even with a new series, people still like GT (designs at least or just closeted fans). SSJ4 Goku is iconic like it or not and is gonna sell VERY well.

I'm dying to hear more news on this series. If it's after RoF but before end of Z than SSGSS Vegeta Is a guaranteed release and probably Whis and Beerus as well since they'll most likely be in the new series. Oh man, prepare your wallets, a wave of new DB figures is coming [emoji24]

That's true, I never thought about Future Trunks coming back. (I'm not sure if you meant the design or the actual character.) I wonder if Toriyama isn't going to focus on that since he would almost have to retcon a lot of plot points. Majin Buu and Beerus the Destroyer especially. They would have already happened before Future Trunks came back in the Android Saga.

I hope they do older stuff too. I'm still holding out for a lot of older releases. They'll of course continue to do dbz stuff because it ties in directly with dbs but while gt doesnt contradict dbs, it doesn't tie in with it either.

I wonder how Uub fits into the whole thing. I guess that depends if the series takes place after DBZ's epilogue. I really want to see the series jump forward a few years.
