These are so rare in regards to execution. They have line work to focus the inking/shading on. I can't imaging a DBZ S.H. Figuarts being anywhere close to that.

Edited: Maybe Scouter and/or Super Saiyan Vegeta with the armor.

cell shaded is the word you're looking for ;) :p

all im saying is to give it a chance. deano posted some old figures which sculpting wise looked ugly anyway but with today's standards both neca and dc pulled it off so i don't think tamashii will fail on it.

oh and revoltech did this.

I would imagine the gi on Goku would be tricky but Tamashii could do similar shading they did to Broly's legs. It's possible. I would like to see a prototype before I make a decision on whether or not Tamashii goes through with it.

Edited: Not that it would be my decision anyways. Just to see if there's any interest.

I would love to get that set of TMNT in black and white. Pretty pricey though. I really like the idea, but I don't think they would be able to pull it off with the DBZ Figuarts. Those turtles were sculpted with lines and details to look like they jumped right off the pages of the comic, even the colored ones.

Also, eff that guy and his 5 GrinGokus. Did they really only have 500? If so, that is insane. They will easily trump SDCC Goku for price and in record time.

Sorry blood, but it just doesnt appeal to me. I grew up on the anime, and still do. Sure I read the manga, but its not what interested me in dragonball. I just feel it would give tamashii reasons to waste space on what would essentially be cheap rereleases with very little going for them instead of new characters.

I agree on the idea that "less desired" variants should be SDCC Exclusives. I'm not necessarily excited that Namek Goku is going to be the SDCC Exclusive. Especially since it's technically a new figure.

But there's alot more people who grew up on the manga including myself. Dbz anime was hard to come by back in the early 90s and fansubbed tapes were hard to find. Bandai/Tamashi don't have to just cater fans who solely grew up on the anime.

Thanks Angelo, deano, and orbital for custom compliments. Really appreciate it.

I'm in the camp of black and white figures being very unappealing. I'd hope they'd do a test run with the figuarts zero line if that's something they were thinking of doing so poor sales at least wouldn't have an affect on the line.

Also, it seems from the fb groups that reps at the mexico event were pretty consistent in telling everyone the goku would be sdcc as well.

Are you telling me... Sdcc will release mexigoku? For everyone? Please if that happen i will buy 2 (*_*)

That's the word that was being thrown around at the event this weekend by the DAM Representatives. Take it with a grain of salt though.

I don't understand (*_*) mexigoku will be release for sdcc? I can buy it? (*_*) can i buy 2? (*_*) who did say that? Where come that information? It's official?

I don't feel a new black and white Figuarts Goku release (exclusive or not) would be worth the trouble but I absolutely wouldn't mind a black and white Figuarts Zero version of Goku.
