I'm officially joining the bandwagon of people who think event exclusives shouldn't be any type of important releases.

Bardoon convinced me to jump on that bandwagon a few months ago.

seems my hook up wasn't even able to get the exclusive for himself. really frustrated by Bluefin's decision to allow people to buy 12 exclusives at once. I understand they want to get the figures out to gain/recover income but obviously these things are guaranteed sellers. just a shame that so many people with absolutely no intention to keep the exclusive were able to snag so much.

Edited: That's photoshopped by somebody on Facebook so it may not be true but there's a few people on Facebook saying that it is.

Tamashii tweets when theyre sold out, I've been utterly mindblown following batman v superman, but tamashii hasn't tweeted that to my knowledge.

Good, I'm glad.

Oh my God, that Batman v. Superman trailer was just unbelievable. 2 - 3 seconds of footage of Batman using a grapple gun on the rooftop was one of the best things I have visually seen.

^exactly my fav as well, but the whole thing is god damn mother****ing everything-trumping glorious. Lot more WW too than I expected. LOVE Lex, especially because we know he'll go bald, so the hair doesn't matter to me. Love the whole cast, the look, the dialogue is fantastic. It's just ultimate.

@Timone yeah well... Weren't you someone who was in the camp of really urging for carefulness with exclusives? Well if so I'm in your camp now.

I would venture to guess that they're reserving a lot of the stock to sell to online retailers and/or sell for more on Bluefin Premium. If you think about it, it makes sense to sell the least amount at SDCC since they're only sold for $45. If they keep the majority of the stock allocated for online retailers/Bluefin Premium, they can charge more for the figures and rake in more money. Money talks.

I didn't mean to be a bit forward but I just can't comprehend that understanding. When I hold an S.H. Figuarts Iron Man in one hand and a Marvel Legends Iron Man in the other, there's a huge ****ing difference in quality where I believe it's indisputable.

:exactly::goodpost::clap

I don't even get how it's even an arguement tbh. It's like saying a Ford is in the same league as a Mercedes Benz. They're both cars, anyone can buy em, production costs are probably similar, but don't put them in the same category. B**** please.

Carefulness with exclusives? I don't understand what you mean.

hope so. It's still frustrating but I can live with $65 (hoping that's the price since SDCC Vegeta sold for that through Bluefin last year) over what's it's going for on eBay and smaller online shops.

I know! Everything felt so real and epic. "The red capes are coming! The red capes are coming!" Brilliant writing. Did you see the leaked trailer for Suicide Squad? It looks so sick, twisted, and fun!

The quality and the amount of dedication that Tamashii puts into to most, if not all, of their products is just incomparable.

Right on!

Or Bluefin should just sell them directly from their website. Like Sideshow does now. It actually makes SDCC more enjoyable even for the employees.

Bluefin ****ed up selling the exclusive. It's a down right shame because I want to give them more credit as an expression of my appreciation for what they've done but they just ****ed this up.

For real man, the lack of the Buu's and SSJ4 sucks. They're either delayed (for the Buu's) or cancelled (Kami forbid for SSJ4). They've just showed the same old stuff we've already seen and even less than what they displayed at other conventions. Built up all that hype for nothing, what a letdown of a SDCC for us DB collectors. They seem to be focusing more on DBS/RoF which I was afraid of. I mean, it's understandable from a business perspective, but it sucks as a fan.

What happened was, we took a sneak peak at our presents before opening them up on Christmas morning. All the talk of "SDCC will have some surprises" has already been revealed to us way beforehand. Tamashii has no control over websites that show photos of their displays that they create at other conventions. Had we not known that they were gonna reissue Trunks & Vegeta then we'd all be super excited right now.

Your explanation is spot on.

I theorized early on that Tamashii had already shown "too much" before SDCC. They basically have enough potential figure releases to last them almost all the way through 2016. So I predicted that nothing new would be shown and it looks like that's what happened.

Given, it has been an incredible year for Dragon Ball and Bandai-Tamashii finally decided to be more assertive and active with MARKETING Dragon Ball than they were with Battle of Gods. Hence why we've seen SO much more merchandise for RoF than we had for BoG. And despite the amazing attention Dragon Ball gets world-wide, Tamashii still "caters" to their Japanese audience (like Deano said) and naturally would want to get the marketing machine rolled out fast and strong over there already knowing full well the Western fans follow very closely.

As much as us fans look at SDCC and NY ToyFair as "big events" for collectibles, which they still are, they're not considered the primary outlets for reveals from a Japanese company like Bandai-Tamashii.

Just went ahead and bought one quickly from Ebay. Had a ton of Ebay Bucks saved up apparently, so ended up paying only $30 for it with my Ebay bucks included. Not too bad but definitely not what I wanted to pay.

You still have one more day though.

Bluefin's problem is they need to set a limit and stick with it.

SDCC 2014 was just as scattered. At first it was a limit to 1 per person per day and then it was magically lifted towards the end of the Con. They went hard and strong almost immediately with the 12 figure limits.

Bottomline is that Bluefin doesn't want to carry as much home.

Their problem was the actual limit though. 12 figures?! On the first/second day?! Whoever made that decision is a ****ing moron and doesn't give a **** about the collectors at the convention. Otherwise they would have done exactly what you said they did last year. Allow each collector a chance at one and then add to that limit as the convention goes on. They knew it would sell. That was just a complete ignorant move for them to do.

Have they ever revealed something on the last day? Does any company do that? The best predictor of behavior is based on past behavior. I honestly don't remember the years before.

My mistake. I meant to say "You still have one more day though...with your Trunks." :devil
