They are, even one of the boards uses that description FatHotei's posts actually aren't that overdramatic, he's just making simple posts in response to you, and you are just trying to create some meaningless argument to justify everything you are saying. What you're doing is arguing with everyone, not having a conversation, and ergo, you are creating a scene.
I look at figuarts. I don't look at toys. Just realized that after walking around Walmart. You should try that someday. Hell, I won't even take a gander at a Marvel Legends figure.
Answer the actual question that is directed towards you in the post you quoted rather than ignoring it and speaking rhetoric about nothing. After that, please answer the question regarding what these toys are to you if not toys. Thanks. If you are not responding to me directly (ie: conversing with me) and just throwing out passive aggressive insults and accusations, then you are in fact the one causing a scene. If you do not want to answer said questions then by all means, just ignore and don't respond at all.
Marvel Legends is a mixed bag. Some of their molds look somewhat okay but when you look at them closely, they look really cheap. After being spoiled by so many shf Iron Man, you can't even bothered by Marvel Legends Iron Man.Can't do it. Stopped doing the retail thing some time ago. If I were into comics though, I'd definitely do Marvel/DCU/figuarts/Sentinel/whatever. Wouldn't mind it. Whenever I do see the Legends/Select they come off pretty attractive but just not my thing.
Give me a link to a hot toys thread and I'll do it.

Crisis, I'm going to have to get that Buu. Wow.

Spoiler:I just wanna add the fact that tamashii does not officially MASS produce these, they don't have a master toy licence and they'll never produce even close to the quantities of the likes of hasbro or dc collectibles or mattel. (Confirmed in an interview by adam newman.) THAT alone makes these relatively rare, and imo that itself is one of the best arguments why this is, in fact, a collector's line. As Big D pointed the label out, you can counter saying 15-18 (or higher) denotes a 'kid', but I think that's missing the point, because putting ages 20 and up on these things is just dumb. No collector's figurine makers do this as far as I know. To channel a part of what blood said to a degree, hot toys are factually dolls, whatever anyones emotional opinion on that is. That's not offensive, I have great respect for the sculptors and makers of those products. These are action figures and toys. None of those denotations, nor to what extent they are articulated, plastic or cloth (cheapest kid toys can have cloth) etc has anything to do with whether it is collector merchandise. Production quantities, type of product and detail and the companies own aim decide that. And in every of those categories this line is a collector's grade line, or is categorically equal to products who are accepted to fall into under that definition, simple as that. You may feel a dislike for that, but that doesn't change it, because these simply factually are collectors items. Whether the adjective "adult" (ignoring its use to denote x-rated stuff) is important to you or not is of course your own opinion, which you're totally entitled too, but then I'd wanna harken back to Blood again and say... A lot of 'adult collectors' stuff is de facto also toys or something else children or teens could have fun with, as well as the opposite also the opposite: many adults behave like children about things that are originally meant to be functional adult things (for example real cars). I feel making an argument based on that adjective is not only subjective as well as simply relative to cultural perspective (which for one, is very different between for example 'the west' and Japan), but sort of copping out toward an air of 'this is lesser to what is deemed adult', which I think is simple nonsense. I don't know if you meant it that way, from what I read I think you didn't, but it comes off that way.
Lastly there is value, if you want to take that solely as a barometer yes you can say these are obviously closer to kids toy aisle prices, but then again, do you know how mother****in expensive Lego sets can get!? Again you're gonna fall into an overlap where this cannot be the deciding distinguishing factor. Seeing as in every category that matters that can function as a distinguishing line these fall into the 'grown-up' level collector items, that's where they're at. Not meant at all rudely at all, but whether you like that or not...
