Didn't it occur to people this is their way of not pissing off ppl who have the original and maintaining that figure's value?

@Reaper tamashii doesn't HAVE to do ANYTHING. This isn't some charity, you know, just business. It's not like they're giving these away non-profit (they actually charge MORE according to Big D). They could literally quit right now making these, but sure as hell plenty would be pissed off, including you I dare say. That's not the point though. This isn't about entitlement, this is about giving everybody the idea they're gonna reissue something and pissing over people's parade. It's a **** move. 'oh psych! You're gonna get it, but not entirely.' Sorry... what? Why do you annoy your fans like that? They add hands for vegeta and take face parts away for trunks? What? These weren't designated bonus parts. They're gonna make their money off of this and they don't have to make a single new thing for it. Just release it like it was with this repaint. It's dumb enough they have to circumvent their own rules with this paint bs.

@SurlyJ Maintain its value? Why? What does Tamashii get out of that? So Tamashii should have as their agenda to support scalpers? What? **** value. I have no respect for people buying these things just for value and there's no business side to it. If there's demand, and Tamashii can produce it within their schedule etc, just make it. Don't start annoying people needlessly at the end of it. This is needlessly annoying people.

Tamashii doesnt care about the old figures value man, they see none of the scalper money. I own the original, and I wouldnt be annoyed at others getting it. I have said it before, anyone who gets pissy at their precious figures losing money doesnt deserve them in the first place. They are the people who cause these sorts of issues.

But they care about their collectors and rereleasing exclusive, limited items pisses people off. You may not like that, but it's the way it is.

"Don't deserve them"? Lol who the hell are you?

im a collector, not an investor man. Get over yourself. I buy my figures to enjoy them, not to make a quick buck down the road.

Yeah totally agree with ya man.. It ppl like those ^^^^^ not you deano that makes it hard for ppl who have an limited income to be able to collect and enjoy the figures... I'm not happy about this Trunks thing which I hope its just a misprint or something.... It's really shady for bandai only including half of his hands and possibly only 2 of his 4 normal faces...

You know who I find annoyingly self entitled? People who moan [morally] about their 40 dollar action figure's after market value dropping after 3 years [EDIT: because of a rerelease, ftr]. Newsflash: these things wouldn't have the aftermarket value if this line didn't happen to be downgraded in production to web exclusive status because it didn't sell in japan. They'd be rereleasing the MONKEY**** out of all of this. *looks at manga goku, piccolo and gohan*

Seriously, people annoyed by this assumed **** move aren't the ones who need to get over themselves here.
EDIT: And Im not even buying this trunks, I have the original. But suddenly taking out face parts is just needlessly annoying to people. Let alone charging MORE for it.

I do not think you guys are understanding what surly is saying. If the item is exclusive let stay exclusive. This is a collectors line like it or not. I like that the figures go up in price, it shows value. That doesnt mean we support scalpers...its just part of being a collector. ANy figure that is considered a collectible will go up in price. People pay thousands of dollars for old toys in the name of collecting... the public raises the items value not the sellers.

2nd point. you guys are talking about them shorting us out for no reason. Who the hell knows how many loops and holes they had to jump through to get these "premium colors" released. No one here knows what was done. Maybe they had to pay for such loops holes and to lower the cost they took a few accessories off. We do not know so stop assuming its because they want to **** on us which would make no sense. I repeat they did not have to release these figures but they did for the fans. IF they would've never made this they would've still made the money with future figures and everyone knows that. So for the people who dont have the money to get the ver 1 should be grateful they are re making them. Just like the people who are ******** over dbs for one bad episode. Guess what Toriyama didnt have to do the series or the movies. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions no need to bash because we have different views.

its just like people who dont understand someone who collects every item in the line. If i want to pay 500$ for the same figure with a different box who the hell cares its my money its my collection (mexi goku).

I just want a Vegeta figure that wont cost me 300 dollars. That's all.

This man right here!! i would rep you if i could. <3 no **** lol. I know if i missed out i would be happy af if i got to replace the datong with an original missing a few accessories or not.

Yep, can I just remind anyone about to use the "these are exclusives" argument that they are NOT.

That has always just been a way for Tamashii to limit production IF a certain figure bombs so they dont loose money, damage control if you will. If all of these were under the same banner as the manga releases (and the upcoming awakening Goku) then NONE of your figures would be worth a thing. Remember that.

So what if my sdcc Goku is currently selling for the price of a car, doesnt mean its WORTH that amount. Prices only go up because of panic, and scalpers feed off that panic. These figures wont ever be worth what they are selling for, and the fact that its so easy to repeat the process tells you how bs it all is!

That is your opinion. Just because a figure is not worth that amount to you doesnt mean it is for someone else.... Prices go up not because of panic but because the figures run out since they ARE exclusive... prices go up because the supply is no longer there. OBviously something that isnt made anymore and there is still a demand for it will rise in price. bidding wars raise the price of the item not sellers. Just cus one seller puts scc goku at 900$ doesnt mean you see everyone else doing it... Now id u look at sdcc goku went from 120 to 160 over night why? because bidding wars raised it. if you are a seller and see that it went for 150 in a lot of bids why would you list it at 120 when you know theyll pay for it. Thats part of collecting. People pay 20k for nintendo cartridges used in tournaments.... Also i would like where you got " remind anyone about to use the "these are exclusives" argument that they are NOT" from, i would like to read up on this as well. Like i said i respect your opinion, but at the end of the day its just your opinion doesnt make it fact.

I respect everyone on this board, especially you reaper (still love your customs) but please dont try to justify scalping or bad business practice, it wont ever fly with me.

They are exclusive by name alone man, this is common sense, and is shown by how a guaranteed seller like awakening Goku ISNT one.

I thing we do understand you reaper, or at least, ill speak for myself and say I do. However, I don't CARE for the argument, because I think it's disproportionate for 40$ action figures that are 3 years old, and who were labeled under an exclusive label by happenstance out of lack of business within one country. These figures weren't intended to be as rare relative to the demand it achieved. The proof for that lies in 1) that the line started out as rereleasable norml figures nd 2) those first ones ARE being rereleased, goku three times over now! These figures are not old nor are they worth a lot at release. They are not intended rarities like 1/6 scale figures. Who do in fact rerelease releases and BETTER versions to boot. The moral argument you gave fails here imo. The value of these figures lies in happenstance and scalpers misusing this at a later stage.

I never said you're not entitled to your opinion, but that doesn't mean I'm obliged to respect the content of this particular one. I respect your entitlement to an opinion, which goes without saying to me, but I don't respect what's in my view a misplaced and misused argument, because it ignores context.

Oh and as for tamashii doing this to screw people. I don't think I ever said that was thir motivation. If indeed this whole is true t ll in the first place.

But it does in fact needlessly sours an otherwise good thing. If they do that to cater to people who have in my view a misplaced sense of morality regarding this line, than I find that a **** move. Even if tamashii doesn't intend it to be one.

Exclusive for these simply means once they are out of initial production, that's it. That's a distinct departure from a figure that can be reissued. That's all. The hostility needs to be dropped. Way too much irrational anger.

This isn't an opinion thing. Tamashii has a specific reason for not doing straight rereleases and they are doing a workaround to get people a cheap Trunks and Vegeta. But apparently that isn't enough.

I respect both of you (silrian, deano) We have all been here since the beginning. Its just the bashing is going tor far without any solid proof of why they took it out. There has to be a reason in why it was done. My theory is that someone had to pay someone to allow these premium colors to be made. We do not know how these contracts work, and to lower the total cost it was done so by removing some of the accessories. The difference between us as collectors is that you guys seem to just see these as 40$ figures. Some of us dont see it that way. Silrian for example doesnt buy figures he doesnt care for, i on the other hand want every figure released example mexi goku and sdcc 15 goku. So i can see why silrian thinks they are just 40$ figures. Its comparing two completely different type of collectors. Like i said i paid 300$ for the mexi goku because there was no way of me going to mexico and getting. was it worth ? in my mind as a collector yes! In most people who dont collect such as friends? No im effing crazy for spending that much on a toy. And say what you say if its only exclusive by tittle it doesnt change the fact that its exclusive. Less quantity is produced either way making it an exclusive. This all comes down to contracts, we dont know why awakening goku is a normal release and how they manage to make the premium versions of goku and trunks. Also i have a different view on scalpers we the collectors put the price tag on these figures along with the limit bandai produces.

ITs the same on dbf someone was arguing that the tips painted on this figure makes it (cell saga) while ver 1 is considered ( android saga) that was his reasoning to buy both of them, the other guy said that is stupid its the same figure blah blah blah. At the end of the day its nothing but opinions and i respect both of you the same as i always have, im just stating mine because some people seem to be bashing others(not you two) for having a different opinion.

This is exactly how i see it in simpler terms lol. You cant please everyone.
