The first fight with the girl was something to be expected. The girl targeted Roshi's lust, but somehow Roshi turned his suppressed lust into power and scared the girl away with his Maximum Power Perviness. It's weird how Roshi can just pinch the girl's energy weapons though without suffering damage. Maybe the girl was really just that weak? The second fight with the illusion lady showed how Roshi can still beat strong intelligent enemies using his wisdom and battle strategy, and one of his old tricks, the Mafuba, to seal the lady in a little jar. The third fight with the kid who transformed into some kind of monster bird also showed how Roshi's battle experience can overcome power. Unfortunately for him when the kid powered up into the bird monster, he totally got outclassed. Still, in one of the more dramatic moments of the show, Master Roshi decided to finally give the enemy his final maximum kamehameha because the kid has the potential to grow very strong that he would cause the others trouble later on.
That last part of the show was really beautiful. It brought back memories of the original Dragonball when Roshi, Goku, and Krillin still lived and traind together. Even though he's a really pervy old man, he honestly loves Goku and Krillin as if they were his kids and he's ready to die for them and also the universe.
