Tien is like one of the main z warriors...and hes one of the most bad a$$ humans in the show lol but ok

I just never liked Tien. I know he's not obscure, I just don't think he's very cool. His character bugged me. Just my preference. Love Dbz, but not everything about Dbz.

The sad part is tho that I would probably still buy a Tien.

Tbh if the line had to have only 1 figure left before its over, I'd honestly want Mr. Hercule Satan... and I can't explain why.

I don't get you guys' response. I think it's in Tamashii's own interest to make the regular releases the anime versions. It will attract more people to the line and sales can go beyond those of sdcc limitations. So why would tamashii keep this anime repaint sdcc exclusive thing going? I don't see how it's in their interest and therefore I'd be surprised if they do so.

On top of which, unless you're only a manga fan, I don't see why you would want them to either.

I think it would be in their best interest to keep manga renditions exclusive to retail releases and to not relegate them as Con exclusives. The line is more popular in the West thanks to the anime, and that's what most people are familiar with. I know there are those that collect the manga, but not nearly as many people read it, as those that have watched it. Since they want to appeal to a larger audience, for obvious reasons ($), it makes more sense to make the familiar more readily available, and to make the less familiar available on a smaller scale.

This is why it also makes sense for them to do repaints for the exclusives since it's more cost effective. They already have the tooling for the figs. If they continue with making variants, I suspect we'll see the opposite of what they've done up to this point. They'll start making anime accurate available at retail and manga variants available as exclusives... or they'll just make amalgamations like Krillin :/.

And sdcc exclusives are a smaller scale, per definition. So to continue anime renditions as sdcc exclusives is, as I said before, against their own interest. A regular release of that same anime rendition can and will sell more as a regular release. Which leads me to...

Exactly. This was my point from the beginning and it's why I don't expect an sdcc anime Krillin.

Hey guys, do you think you could maybe answer another question from a clueless Dragonball Z viewer such as myself?

My husband and I are still watching it, and we have just seen Trunks for the first time. We are watching the Funimation dub, but I don't know if Funimation has different versions or what.

Anyway...Vegeta's voice has changed. I remember reading months ago that Vegeta has two (or possibly three) voice actors. I was researching this last night, and found a lot of confusion! Apparently, Funimation changed voice acting studios around episode 30-40, and all the voices changed? And apparently, by around the hundredth episode, which is roughly where we are at, Goku has had three different voice actors in the Funimation dub? What? My husband and I are only able to notice a change in Vegeta's voice, but these sites I was looking at last night all said that the entire voice cast changed early on in the show, and that the voice cast changed multiple times throughout the course of the show.

Does anybody know what I'm on about? I'd really like a Dragonball expert to explain to me like I'm five what the deal is with the voice actors constantly changing. Like I said, I can only notice a change in Vegeta's voice.

Well Funimation has only one voice actor for Vegeta. Their dub started during the Namek Saga and then eventually they went back to do the Saiyan saga with the Funi actors. If you had watched DBZ in the 90s, it was recorded with different actors because it wasn't Funimation.

I noticed a voice change with Vegeta in the Funi dub, but that's because Chris Sabat was refining the voice for awhile.

Watch the fun dub then after that watch the Kai version uncut better voice work nonsense cut out .

I'm pretty confident we won't have a SDCC Krillin, so that's why I wanted this Krilin to have anime colored eyes instead of these white ones. The prototype looked awesome, there was no need to change...

for the guys complaining about the eyes, you can always display him with this face, making him beat up by someone or do that pose exactly.

be more open duuuude. there's a first time for everything. if the demand is big enough things can change maaan. there was a big demand for anime colored piccolo and we got one even though bluefin said no more repaints. but i guess that was meant after piccolo, but still.

There are two seperate western dubs originally. The "Ocean dub" canadian if Im not mistaken, and they recorded for Funimation studio until about the moment Goku arrives on Namek. Then Funimation decided to setup their own VA studio and thus the Funimation dub started. Per dub no voice actors switched.

Later Funimation went back and recorded everything of Namek and before to complete a full series dub. In reverse, the Ocean group later recorded everything from the Android saga onwards, leaving their dub uncomplete (last part of Namek is missing). Also don't know if they did anything post-cell.

Then for the new DBZ Kai release a new dub was made largely with funimations actors if Im not mistaken. However, especially Gohan is awful in that imo.

I personally like performances from all three dubs differing per character, but apart from loving Ocean's Vegeta (Brian Drommund <3, he's the best evil vegeta), I recommend watching the uncut Funimation dub as is released on dvd. Not only for the voice actors, but for the score as well. Granted, if you don't care about that then watching dbz Kai is most logical if you're new to DBZ. I however dislike Kai, it's not the DBZ I've been a fan of since I was a kid. I actually prefer the way it was aired, which is Ocean forthe early sagas and Funimation for everything from the point Goku arrives on Namek.

The best dub is obviously the DBZ Abridged fan parody edit, found on Team Four Star's youtube channel.:rotfl

Exactly what I was going to say! The ocean dub continued on here in the UK after funimation took over in America, doing up till the end of Buu, and I am pretty sure the entirety of namek was dubbed for here, since funi didnt have broadcast rights for the UK but I definitely watched it; it is nigh impossible to find nowdays since no dvds were made of that dub to my knowledge.

Even though I grew up with ocean, I still prefer the majority of voice actors from funi, the exception being Trunks; his Ocean dub was much more mature than the raspy funi version.

Yeah I'm really annoyed I just can't find the ocean dub anywhere. I want to have the earlier sagas of it. Didn't know they'd continued with the entire series though. I think the beginning of the android saga was ocean dub here as well, so I had two times that they went from ocean to funi.

The main thing is I prefer Funi's Goku and Gohan a lot more of any of the others. As well as Cell. I honestly prefer Sabat for redeemed Vegeta too as well as Piccolo. Basically, I just love Ocean for Brian Drommund's evil Vegeta and the nostalgia of it.

Brian Drommund inserted in the funi dub, that'd probably be my ultimate DBZ audio.
