Anyone have any info on what the giant cell waist [at least i think its his waist] is behind the figures?

The 1.1, 1.2 are Bluray Remastered of the Original. The Problem is that right not its on Hiatus for some reason. So iwouldnt bother getting those. i would wait for them to confirm the they will continue them.

Ok cool thanks. Hey well shoot me a pm since your on top of this more than me if you don't mind. :)

hey, not technically on topic with this post, but bluefin just posted a pic of what appears to be figuarts zero statues of battle damaged Goku and full power Frieza, pic below;

Now, while they look fantastic, I hope this doesnt signal the end of poseable dbz figuarts, like what happened with one piece, what does everyone else think?

Nope. Otherwise they won't show us nappa, 18, krilin Protos on sdcc.

That said, what's up with the delay on cell? I kept on getting notification from amazon regarding my PO.

No delay for Cell as far as I know; he should be scheduled for the end of november if the other releases are anything to go by, maybe amazon is getting confused and sending duplicate automated emails?

Haven't been in this thread in ages, thought I would share very early preliminary work on a sketch. I need to tune it up a lot in areas, especially tearing on the pants of his gi. This is freehand by the way.

nice pic.

2 questions:

1. when exactly is cell's release date?

2. Where the Frak is Normal Goku???!!!?????

really - when are we going to get any info on the next DBZ SHF release???

my guess is that info on the next figures will come in January/February, as for cells release date, that is the end if November; we rarely get specific dates for these, its usually "whenever we are done" during the release month. Normal Goku should be in the next wave (I hope), along with Vegeta, Nappa and Krillin I would guess (all being present in the saiyan saga)

Yeah I hate how spaced out this line is, should be 6 figs a year with a 7th for comic con! I could live with that, as long as I get a Bardock before I die ill be happy

nice pic, have you ever tried drawing it the way anime is traditionaly done?

by that, I mean single stroke lines. master that, and I think you could make some pretty amazing stuff.

Well yes I have, it was a unfinished drawing. Around the weekend I might make the lines more crisp.

I'm not talking about hardlinging it. You've taken what I've come to think of as the "american style" of drawing comics. some people call them " hairy lines" where you tick it out little by little to get the details worked in, then go back, hardline, or "ink" it, and add more detail.

Traditional manga, like in shonen magazines is drawn in ink, not pencil. and is done so quickly. so, if we look at goku's eye, for example, as a square, each side of said square would be drawn in a single stroke. the curve of his shoulder is done all at once, in one fluid stroke. similar to calligraphy.

In college I met a guy who used to work in a manga studio that made shonen mags. drawing that way was the only way they could get the 1500+ page books finished bi-weekly. Taught me how to do it... at one time, i was actually kinda 1/2 good at it.. now all i can still do is faces.

Don't misunderstand at all, I think it's great looking. far better than i can do these days. I'm soo out of practice. just wondering if you've ever tried the method of which I am speaking.

I understand what you mean with a single stroke. I'm actually pretty rusty myself and I've slowly gotten back into it. When I eventually re-line it and do a contrasting paint job it will look great. :hi5:

My program of course has a pen tool and a line layer program that keeps lines more clean the best it can.

Isn't modern Technology Awesome? :yess:

Im more old school myself; never could get the hang of a tablet lol, I prefer the feel of paper and the fact that I dont have to keep looking up at a screen to make sure the "pen" is in the right place! Dont get me wrong though, some PC drawings are fantastic, I just cant get used to that way of drawing!

Yup. You are correct sir.

and let me tell you.

Worth every damn penny.

BUT

for those of you that don't know, BTW, never never NEVER buy a wacom tablet of any kind new, unless you've got cash to burn. Buy a used one off ebay. you'll be able to get it for 50-90% off retail. kids in college buy them, decide they don't like them, and hock them on the 'bay constantly. Wish i had known that BEFORE i got mine, but still :lol
