Hello guys,

Just brought an SDCC Gohan. Really excited about this one. hehe (just wanted to share)
So my question is do you guys use any of the old DBZ Toyline as stand-ins (for characters you know they won't make) for your display? like a Chi Chi or Bulma, Kid Gohan? Which figures are good stand-ins scaling and looks wise with these modern DBZ figuarts? Almost brought a Saiyan Spacepod cause I saw some awesome pictures here, but it got really expensive.

Thanks in advance!

Go to that website. its a dragonball figure website. That specific link is for an entire thread of figures that are too scale with figuarts. That'll answer your question.

I remember voting for Tekken on one of the Tamashii polls, so that's a possibility. I played those games like crazy. Jin, King, and Kazuya were my guys! I think Mortal Kombat would be the way to go if they want to make money. A lot of fantastic designs, especially with the newest game, making them much more distinct. I don't understand why so many critics bashed it, yet anytime a Street Fighter game comes out with the bare minimum of content gets praised for all it's wealth of fearures and amazing online, when it's such a big cash in, barebones release, and the online is so laggy. This stinks! I would love a Scorpion and Sub Zero, but I have to focus on this line. They would even make me get the injustice Batman to fit with their aesthetic. Dang it anyways! Tamashii would do such an amazing job too! Grrrrr....,

Darkstalkers would be the best imo, and I think the most toyetic. Plus it's the general aesthetic of Tamashii Nations the best. However, it's probably not a strategic property at this point. They already have FF/KoF, that's out. SQEX has Tekken, and it hasn't done super well so Bandai might not be interested in that. Not sure. Soul Caliber.. I could see them doing that, but it would not be my first guess. I would definitely say Mortal Kombat given some of their other recent properties, but I hope it's Darkstalkers.

Original mortal kombat figures would be a bit uninspired imo, they were all just recolours of each other! The designs from the "reboot" were among the best imo.

Yeah fair play man think it's just the nostalgia in me! But yeah as long as there's a scorpion and sub zero (which there obviously would be) I would definitely buy into that line :)

That's it, I am hooked to the SHF DBZ line: today I bought a set from a fellow local collector for approx. $400 that includes the ff:

Piccolo manga
Gohan SS manga
Goku SS
Trunks
Vegeta SS
Vegeta scouter
Perfect Cell

Just a couple of weeks ago, I bought my first two, Klilyn and SDCC Piccolo.

This is addictive for sure. I want a SDCC SS Gohan though but I'm contended for now. I think :slap

I will post some pictures as soon as I get the chance.

Finally had some time last weekend to un-box :yess:

I could go on all day posing these guys, crappy pic/flash cannot hide how awesome these figures are! :lol

I dont have anywhere in particular, usually just wherever is cheapest or whoever is first to get them instock. Goku, 18, mmpr black, blue and yellow are the first I have preordered in bulk from anime island.

I've got most of mine from market place sellers on Amazon UK. Most have been UK sellers (dispatched from Amazon warehouse in some cases), but the rest have been from France, Italy, Germany and a few from America and Japan as well. I started collecting these last May when I got Cell and subsequently went mad for them! I bought as many as I could from Europe initially as I was fearful of customs duty, but have since ordered from America and Japan for some of the older figures....

I mainly order from amazon.com and have had no problems from them although I bought a couple of the characters from toy arena and they were equally as good although they took a couple weeks longer to arrive!

Oh I have no doubt there will be customs charges for amazon.com to uk, its extremely difficult to get anything past customs outside the eu, its disgusting. To add insult to injury our mail service charges a premium on top of the customs charge of at least £8.

Yeah if you order on amazon.com you pay them the tax and they pay customs on your behalf so you get it without hassle. And it's only usually about the same as the £8 fee that customs usually charge anyway so it works out well in my opinion. And it usually arrives about a week after dispatch so not too bad!

I always use Anime Island to get them to the UK. They always mark as a gift and lower value and are very reasonably priced. They can a bit slow to send items compared to other sellers at times tho

Should clarify, there is a section in the purchasing process where you actually request to mark as a gift.

Hmm, they say in their faq that for uk they will not mark as gift even if you pick it. They did say to tell them to mark the value down so that should work....hopefully!

Dont know if thats a new policy on their part, haven't received anything since Krillin. Maybe they've been flagged by UK customs, I know thats happened to BBTS and now when they mark an item as a gift it just gets ignored.

I dont see how uk customs can "flag" any company, what if they actually are gifts? Just greed on our govts part tbh.
