If you think the writers for the faulconer score (which in a lot of cases wasn't faulconer himself by the way) wrote without respect for the material, you're being a biased idiot. Themes like the spirit bomb theme, piccolo's theme, the ssj3 goku theme, Vegeta's theme etc are pieces written by writers who clearly appreciated what they wrote for. They brought a lot of heart to it that's gives me goosebumps to this day. It's just a different style of expression. If you can't hear that, sad day for you.
You can hate whatever you like, but claiming the music writers for the faulconer score were disrespectful to the property is a load of snobby BS – and I reiterate the man faulconer took credit foor music that was mostly written by multiple different other people. Also, the japanese score was for japanese orchestral music more generic than the faulconer score was for western music at it's time. You're clearly just ranting from a biased pov, rather than making a distinction between assessing something and your own feelings toward what you're assesing.
When it comes to Japanese vs English debates in anime, I find there's always gonna be bias depending on one's home country and original viewing of said anime. Everytime, it seems to boil down to Japanese is better cuz it's the original or cuz it's older or some crap like that. I like to see as many things as unbiasly as possible. Even if I were Japanese, I would still stay the Funi dub, in music AND voice acting is superior. It's not like the mouth animations don't line up or anything, it's simply a different language being used instead of the Japanese. This is talking strictly DBZ and not for any other anime. Other animes may have the edge up in Japanese, but imo, DBZ is not one of them.
