there's nothing more that needs to be said really. freezer & Cooler are shapeshifters & Kold/Chilled prolly are, too. We also come up with better theories/explanations than Toriyama ever has

That pretty much sums it up. Toriyama doesn't really try to explain things and really give clear stories behind some of his characters. It's really up to the fans to come up with that stuff.

Regarding Cooler and the 5th form, my personal opinion is that the 5th form is basically just another power up akin to a new Super Saiyan form. Frieza could probably achieve a 5th form as well but he would have to unlock it. How it's unlocked is a mystery that clearly Cooler knows about or maybe it's just cuz he's stronger. It's like how Goku can achieve SSJ3 but Vegeta can't.

Now, where Golden Frieza comes in. The "Ultimate Evolution" is a different type of power-up that's specific to the Frieza race similar to how SSG is different from SSJ and specific to Saiyans.

SSJ 1,2,3 = 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th Form
SSG = Ultimate Evolution

That being said, for all we know, during Frieza's training, he could've unlocked his 5th form. He then continued training and unlocked his Ultimate Evolution which just took him to another level completely. Maybe he even had to do some ritual with 5 evil-hearted aliens or some **** like that to evolve, who knows? Honestly imo the explanation for how Frieza attained his Golden form is the laziest explanation imaginable but if I try to rationalize it, this is the best I can come up with. I hope this made some kind of sense :monkey3

Another thing I've mentioned a while ago while discussing with Silrian, how Coolio's 5th form isn't really that much more powerful. Think about it.. Goku defeated Freezer as a SS, but he was still struggling to do so (albeit briefly). Koola was dominating Goku the entire fight even after he transformed, but the moment Goku said fudge this & turned Super Saiyan, Cooler was easily defeated like a minute later. And I'm not even taking Zenkai into consideration.

So who really was the toughest opponent?

Coolio?! How about Snoop Dogg?

I don't think that cooler was done justice. They just treated him like most movie villains. They make a villain who's kinda strong and beats on Goku and friends for the first 2/3 of the movie. Than in act 3 Goku goes some level of ssj and wins.

I'd like to get everyone's take on Cooler in general.

Nothing has ever been said about Freeza's species of origin, it's all pure speculation. We only know what Freeza has said about himself & that's it.

Toriyama himself prolly has no idea where he [and King Kold] came from, or if Kold can even transform at all. They're just monsters from space.

But we KNOW that his so called "final form" is his original. We KNOW that any of his previous forms were just used as power caps. (...) We KNOW that the Cooler movie does it differently, and writes it like they were all born in first form and then UPGRADED to the iconic 4th/final form, they both have, which allows for the further power up to a 5th. Like this is pokemon or something. Lol
So with that mind, what say you?

After frieza being in hell with everyone and the ginyu's in the buu saga yet he refers to it as earth hell in RoF, I feel like we can say we know nothing... Honestly... It feels like anything can happen and be rewritten at this point. Frieza can be resurrected alive but still be in pieces and those pieces 'wobble' around? Like... what the ****. Trunks blew those pieces to smithereens. Did anybody remember that? Why is he left in pieces? He was SEEN as NONROBOTIC and whole in the buu saga!?!? Trunks destroyed those pieces down to dust... All of this **** makes no sense anymore. I feel like most of DB+DBZ sorta makes sense except a few things, but this new content is just Toriyama doing whatever the frig he feels like and especially seems to completely wanna forget the buu saga except Honey-Boo Buu.

I think Cooler's 'horned' form is ****in awesome but sadly it has been used and I don't see it being reused. That one movie isn't enough to make me care and on that note:

that movie is not enough to make me care. Same deal with Broly. They're not canon and the story is next to non-existent.= me not caring.

They're two wastes of awesome designs. Just like Dabura is. Just like Ultimate Gohan was. And so on. Toriyama wastes designs.

Btw, you sure you had that convo with me Cri-to-the-es-I-es?
Saw Resurrection F last night.
The fight scenes were very well done. As others mentioned, they focused on skill over massive ki blasts and rapid fire punches/kicks. Overall, the movie was pretty decent until they let Goku kill Freeza instead of Vegeta. I mean, I knew it was coming but ugh. It seems like Vegeta will never have his day. Also, I'm pretty sure Vegeta was effing with Freeza about joining him, kinda like how he led Nappa on before obliterating him. I haven't been able to find a subbed version anywhere but I'd like to see if there was much of a difference in the original dialogue.

Good one, I forgot Vegeta did like to do that ****. I'd also like to know what crucial dialogue changes are between the RoF dubs.

The segments with Frieza in hell were filler material so you can't really factor them in.

Oh but you can, because although they are filler, they take place in the SAME place that Goku fell into from snake way. The place exists, and that by extension would mean thats where Frieza, cell etc would go.

At this point Dragon ball has become a series where the cannon is as you want it to be.

I just enjoy Dragonball for what it is now, with or without the weird and sudden surprises in the storyline lol :)

I think DBZ's canon is basically only some things are set in stone, like the transformations. And the movies being non-canon except for the last two. Other stuff seems to be inconsistent at times

This weeks episode of Super was glorious.

This thread is... I can't even... Wow.

Here's a pic of legit SSJ Vegeta, my custom that used the bootleg first edition regular Vegeta, the first edition bootleg SS Vegeta with USSJ Trunks head, and the second edition bootleg with the new custom Trunks head:

The blue on the newest Da Tong Vegeta body is perfect. The joints on it are pretty tight, too. I'll probably pick up another one. The only problem is that one of his elbow joints doesn't seem to go far enough into the forearm so there's a little gap.

hows the waist on the new one> still loose?

So, that one guy on youtube that uploads Spanish overviews of figures several months before they're released; When should we expect him to get his mitts on Vegeta 1.5?

I popped in my local b&n today and man oh man they have upgraded their tamashii nations display. Ssj goku, gohan, Mario, luigi, batman, joker, even tamashii buddies. They even had the figures displayed under glass (didn't have my phone on me so no pics). This is compared to them not carrying a single figuarts two months back.
