@Fat I think you'll find it worth it and like another person here said, it's to a degree easy enough to spot the worst and just skip that. I think the later seasons definitely are the better ones (also improved animation) and once you start to follow the clones, especially anakin's 501st, the ending is pretty incredible (obviously not spoiling it). CW definitely has a few story beats that could've easily been in the movies had they given it the attention.

S1 of Rebels was a bit weakish for me, it was a bit more childish compared to the end of CW, BUT s2 was pretty great, epecially as they're tying into both CW and the OT. That collision of worlds is fantastic. I'll suck up the childishness that can come with it.

In short, if you're sw fan, you have the time, and you want more quality and depth out of the PT worldbuilding, cw is worth it imo.

Now give me my Captain Rex shf tamashii!:lol

Rex shfa? Yes please.

I loved the Clone Wars series and I am enjoying Rebels. A lot of it has to do with how much my son likes them but I enjoy the heck out of both.

I would check Amazon. He pops up around $70-85 with free Prime shipping.

Just came back from watching the movie. Didn't expect it to be so good

Luke looking REALLY old. He's got that Obi Wan thing going but time has not been nice to him. Still, that was an epic moment even though he had zero lines. Rey was amazing. Her acting was excellent and I really enjoyed her character. Also she fine as hell. Finn was great too. Really funny and likeable. We all know him and Rey are getting together eventually. Didn't expect Han to die. It was sad but necessary. Kylo's trying to really convert himself fully to the darkside and he let go of the one thing that was really holding him back. Now if he's able to confront his mother is another story.

Speaking of Kylo...damn was he cool...until he removed his helmet. I don't think Adam really fits who Kylo was. When we first meet him, he's a badass, hardcore mofo that's crazy powerful. Btw, the beginning of the movie was epic. Is it just me or did Kylo look like he was gonna cry every time they showed his face? That being said, Kylo was a pretty cool character and I like how he's torn between both the dark and light, although he's pretty much full on dark side for the most part. VERY interesting villain and I loved him from the very beginning. Really can't wait to have the figure in hand.

Captain Phasma. Disappointing...so far. I doubt we've seen the last of her but her role was so minuscule compared to how she was marketed. The way she was promoted was that she was gonna actually do something. Luke had more of an impact than she did and he said nothing. Her design is awesome but I'm really hoping she has a bigger role in the future films.

I really don't get how Rey knew Jedi mind tricks. She thought the Force was a legend and she randomly knows one of the best tricks in the book? I get that she's powerful but idk. Also, it was hard to believe how an expertly skilled saber and force user like Kylo was able to be taken down by two people who had never used light sabers before. Sure he was injured but he should've been able to easily defeat them.

While certain things were headscratchers and the movie wasn't perfect by any means, it was awesome. I can't wait to see the next two movies. This was merely a reintroduction into Star Wars and leaves many questions that will hopefully be answered in the future. Some great notalgia, awesome characters, and solid action.

I'm glad you liked it! I had pretty much the same thoughts, especially with Rey, but my opinion changed.
At first, I thought she was a bit of a Mary Sue, but then I realized, she's probably heard about the Jedi and Sith for years. They didn't mention the Sith in the original trilogy, but Han brought it up as if it would be something they knew about. She probably heard about maneuvers the Jedi did through stories or was told about it from Luke before she was left on the planet as a girl. I agree with you on the acting! I think The Force Awakens has the best acting out of all the Star Wars movies.

I had kind of a similar reaction with Finn that I also reconciled. I thought his affection for Rey was a little rushed and his knowledge how do things, but he was constantly being programmed and probably never experienced any real friendship in his life, so I could reconcile that.

With Kylo-Ren, I don't think he gave it his all in that fight. When he killed Han, he looked a bit relieved because he knew he had to kill him to progress in the dark side, but then Han touched his face with such compassion, and Ben's expression showed guilt. Not only was he really hurt in that last fight (that bow-caster blew away that armored Storm-Trooper so I thought that was already reason enough for losing in a fight), he was really conflicted. He felt a connection to Rey, and he was trying to get someone to join him because he was desperate for some kind of friendship after what he killed his father. I really liked his character so far, and I can't wait to see how they flesh him and Rey out in Episode VIII!

I didn't really think Kylo felt any remorse after killing Han. He did however like you said, show relief. It was like his right of passage to the dark side. Up to that point he was pretty damn dark anyways but Han was the final step. I LOVED Kylo's character. Only thing like I mentioned was the underwhelming unmasked appearance. I never saw the actor that played him until today so I was a little surprised that the guy under the mask looked so underwhelming. Either way, I'll get used to it. Plus now he has a scar so that always tends to add some extra badassery.

Good point about Finn. He has been a brainwashed puppet for his entire life so when he suddenly meets this pretty girl, he easily becomes infatuated with her (hell I was too lol). The little back and forth between them was cute and I thoroughly enjoyed those moments. It's cool how know we're going to have a strong female lead that will likely become a very powerful Jedi. Judging by how she was able to overcome Ren's abilities being a complete novice, I can only imagine what some proper training (most likely under Luke) will do.

I'm just so hungry for more. There's so many questions I have. The next movie can't come soon enough. I really feel like I have to watch this again to really digest everything. This time was just seeing it to see it. Next time will be for analysis :lecture

Had a look on Hobby Link and Toyz In The Box for Kylo and the Stormtrooper but they're selling out fast. Are there any other reputable stores that have them in stock or shall I just focus on eBay?

And for those that have him, would you recommend the ROTJ Luke Skywalker figure? Just want some general opinions on him.

I really like the ROTJ Luke. The hair being a bit too gold would be my only minor gripe. Otherwise Luke is a killer figure and lots of fun to pose - great articulation, tight joints, etc.

Dude, right after finishing season 1, I googled captain rex figuart. haha. I thought perhaps he was one of the clone trooper commanders that is on its way but alas he's not. Though, I'm pretty sure if you throw the pauldron from black series Rex on the blue figuarts clone commander you'd have yourself a makeshift Rex. I also wouldn't mind a cold assault variant:

I feel the same way. One more viewing to sort out solid storytelling from the nostalgia, which blinded the hell out of me. When I saw Luke for the first time my heart was almost beating out of my chest. When the main title Star Wars came up the entire theater cheered. It was great.

As for Ren's unmasked appearance: I felt it worked it because he looked so opposite how we expected. I think the audience expects to see another Vader type, scarred, ugly, perhaps older, but instead we get a striking look young man, not necessarily handsome, but with a definite striking appearance -- innocent, fair skin, flowing black hair -- not how we think of a Sith lord.

In regards to the fight between he and Rey, I felt it paralleled Luke's fight with Vader in Jedi. Something caught my attention in the film: When Ren first heard about Rey's involvement in the conflict he lost his mind and destroyed that console with his saber. We could chalk this up to Ren's general anger over things slipping further out of his control, or it could be specific. I think there's a connection between he and Rey. I think he knew Rey was on Jakku. So I think there were three things at play during the final fight:

1. Ren was severely injured from Chewie's blaster bolt. He even kept having to hit himself in the side, as if to shove the pain back down and keep going. 2. I think Ren was holding back because of his connection to Rey. 3. Rey fought how Luke fought in ROTJ. When Rey bashes on Ren's sword over and over it reminded me directly of the moment when Luke cut off Vader's hand, which is exactly what Rey did to Ren. It's the anger that made Rey so powerful. That same anger that Luke pulled back from in ROTJ when he decided to not kill Vader and not become the Emperor's apprentice. It's that Skywalker rage. Surely Vader was a superior swordsman to Luke, but Vader was holding back because Luke was his son. And that anger, man, that anger is powerful.

Also, nobody taught Luke how to fight with a lightsaber. I mean, he had a few hours of training on the falcon before old Ben died. I didn't get the impression that Yoda gave Luke lightsaber training. Did Yoda even still have his saber? Obi Wan, Yoda, and Vader were the last properly trained Jedi. Surely Luke taught Ren how to fight, but Luke never received proper training himself. But the force heightens a Jedi's abilities all around, so they're able to wield lightsabers when all others cannot. It was Rey's force abilities which gave her a natural ability to wield a saber.

One last note: I found Ren's uncertainty to be one of the most interesting and unexpected parts of his character. He was legitimately conflicted. This film was Ben Solo's final push to the dark side.

Absolutely recommend the ROTJ Luke go back and see the pics I posted

ROTJ Luke is a fantastic figure.

SH Figuarts are really well made compared to other Japanese lines in the same scale, imo at least.

Pictures don't do it justice once you have it in hand.

Rey basically just stole the entire movie for me, so I really hope Bandai makes a Figuarts of her...
