[...]With that said most of the designs are simply not aging into classic designs for me like the OT did.

The stand-out designs for me would be the retro vibe on the Phase I clones, Jango (who is technically an OT design, but the finish is very much of the PT)...the battle droids, particularly the Super Battle Droids, which remind me of robot designs from the '50s and '60s -- and many of the spacecraft. In terms of design elements the fluid lines and sleek finishes on things like the Naboo craft look like they'll stand the test of time for me.

Maul is more problematic. While the kinetic energy of the character as seen on film, coupled with the menace and mystery he was able to convey, are praise-worthy, the tribal-style tatoos look very dated to me now and make me hear Limp Bizkit in my head. :lol

Wait a month for a parcel and two show up at once...

Just got Mace Windu and TR-8R. Windu's ****ing fantastic, the only thing holding him back is a very low accessory count. TR-8R, on the other hand, is a piping-hot mess of QC issues that's going back where it came from. Extremely disappointed.

Does yours have a weak left shoulder too?

Ouch, 2 Riot Stormies with issues!? Do tell as to how bad this is. He was going to be next on my list. I watched 2 reviews yesterday concerning him and neither mentioned anything. The same 2 guys raved about Mace, so, maybe I'll get him next. I'll see if anyone else has had issues with the Riot guy before I really decide one way or the other. That said, there have been Mace figures where the wrist pegs have popped out.....

The wrist peg on mine popped out! It was a pain in the *** to get back in, now I'm terrified to switch out his hands.

The left shoulder on my mace popped off the first time i played with him, now i dont put that part in extreme positions

It's not that loose. Maybe back then i was just too eager on getting him on super dynamic poses that i reached the ball joint's limit haha but anyway, im just being extra careful now.

Here's the farthest i let those shoulders bend at

Maybe not so bad then, I'd probably do the pose with that arm out with the force hand on it. It'll be next Wednesday when I finally decide.

Yep, it's not so bad. A little more and it'll probably come right off again haha Other than that, mace is fine.

My Luke on the other hand, oh boy. It's a re-release. Hands come right off almost as easily as they pop on. Hard especially when trying to pull off those two handed poses. My friend though, got a far worse deal, his luke's leg joints were already loose fresh out the box.

Ive heard a lot of quality issues from the re-release Jedi Luke. I got mine from that kotobukiya store in akihabara, me and two other friends got one each. Two of us had the same issue (hands that pop of easily), one friend got the loose leg jointed luke. I guess, i consider myself lucky that the only issues on mine are the hands hahaha like with mace, im just super, extra, careful

To me, the PT was a moving Hasbro catalogue designed to make kids buy the figures, and, from what I can remember, it worked. The PT kids that bought them are grown up enough now to get Figuarts, so, they will be popular. What appealed to us as kids can be different to what they wanted when the PT came out and what they want now.

Yeah, the PT was just a toy catalogue, nothing like the OT, right?

Spoilered for size:

My Luke came from MyKombini, so, fingers crossed...

Loose hands can be fixed with Blu Tack, loose legs could be a nightmare though.

The OT were also 3 great movies.

Speaking as a lifelong OT Star Wars fan, I must submit that the above statement is open to debate. i.e. Context is everything. ;)

At any rate, good or bad, the toy aspect of Star Wars is part of the popular culture surrounding the films or we wouldn't be having this discussion. :yess:

Decided to take some pics of Mace.

It feels light on the accessories, but then again I don't know what else they could have offered. If I can get an appropriate Rikhor409 cape for this figure, it'll be perfect. Maybe the best release so far.

Then on the other hand there's this debacle:

This is straight out of the box. Broken knee joint, pouch fell off, kneepads won't stay attached and the sloppiest paint by far out of any of the troopers in this line I've purchased to date. If the place I bought this from can't help me, I'm honestly going to bin the figure and buy an extra standard FO trooper to give the accessories to. Absolutely shameful considering this is a web exclusive made to order.

I agree. And there is the fact that a lot of PT lovers just don't enjoy the OT. So, the success of Star Wars license may be a work of excellent marketing, better than any other brand.
The Force Awakens was an epic fail for most of the PT lovers. That makes me think that Disney should regret having ignored the Prequel era in the upcoming cinematographic universe. I liked TFA , but I was surprised that there was no reference to the prequels.

Mace is an ***-kicking action figure. So much so that I would cave and get him due to your photos. If I hadn't already caved and ordered him. :rotfl

Then on the other hand there's this debacle:[...]

I hope that's an isolated incident. The broken parts look like bad luck but the paint is worrying. The paint wasn't as tight on CW Cap as I would have expected from SHF, so they obviously have a few misses here and there.

It struck me that JJ was an OT fan and TFA was his love letter to it. It follows on from the OT and that is already, according to what Han was saying, a distant memory in the minds of the TFA characters. The PT would be even more distant than that. I liked TFA far more than the prequels and am looking forward to what comes next.
