He looks pretty darn good.

Cape is not movie accurate but still badass must have piece for me.

Edit:This is Bandai 1/12 scale Model Kit not SH Figuarts version.

I know this board is pretty excited for Grievous, but I dunno how the general populace feels about this character. I just hope it sells well enough for them to release EP III Obi-wan and Anakin sooner rather than later.

I think I'm over with Bandai kits. They are really great... but need a lot of time, tools and skills that I can't afford anymore. I'll stay just with action figures ready from factory.

I kind of get this argument for maybe Black Series figures or something, but for high quality import figures? I don't think your average Joe is buying those figures, only people like us.

The point is moot anyway, the sales of Grievous won't affect figuarts since its a model kit, I think you are getting mixed up neonsquiggles.

So I just snagged a Figuarts Clone Captain for $39 shipped on Ebay from a Japanese seller. The seller has high feedback, and has all of the other Star Wars Figuarts figures at their normal price. What are the chances that this is a fake?

I don't think there are star wars shf bootlegs, and if there were they'd probably be cheaper, in line with past bootlegs from other lines. So it's either an amazing deal, or a scam. Seems unlikely it's a scam tho, I really hope you get it

I don't like to build model airplanes, cars, and boats. I despise LEGOs. I have zero interest in building my own collectibles. I want every collectible to come out of the package complete and perfect.

So, PLEASE Bandai, release that beautiful SHF Grievous you showed at that toy show!

I didn't like building model kits either but after toying around with their dbz figurerise sets, it's actually pretty addicting.

I totally missed that Grevious was the model kit...

Shame on me!

How does the R2/R5 model set look straight out of the box built unpainted? And can they be taken apart once built? I don't currently have the time to do a good job on them either but hear they're pretty much the best versions to scale (and Gamestop is no help in the R5 department).

They are amazing, even without paint and weathering. You could probably find a way to take them apart but it would be extremely difficult without breakage as they are snap together. I no longer have my R5 but here's a look at R2 with some of my other Star Wars figures. He scales and looks awesome.

Edit: Here's some more pictures I dug up from my old Instagram account.

R2 looks great, but the silver parts are very "plasticky" looking straight off the sprues. Spray those parts a coat or two of a decent silver or chrome paint, and give him a little dirt wash after you put him together, and you'll have the best 1/12 scale R2 out there IMO.

I went with revoltech R2 though cause I'm a lazy *** lol

Those all look fantastic! If you don't mind, from the first pic (other than R2 of course--and I recognize SHF Luke), which are all the rest? Assuming Vader is 40th?

I see what you mean. I think I can handle a tiny bit of painting. Just not that artistic. Would take me a while. lol

Ah just get a can of tamiya or model masters and spray the silver sprues before you take the pieces off, super easy!

I did that with my bandai stormtrooper (sprayed the black parts matt cause it looks too shiny right out of the box). I have no modeling skills whatsoever, and I had no problems at all. Honestly the hardest part will be if you decide to use the waterslide decals, but even that's pretty easy really and they look way better than the stickers imo.
