I went in with low expectations but I actually enjoyed it. The one thing that has me scratching my head is something Billy repeated a few times throughout the movie. With all the drama surrounding the original blue ranger's sexuality, I found it a little strange that they made Billy the butt of the joke - almost literally - with the "Billy Crams-Tons-of-Stuff-Up-His-Butt" joke. It may be a totally harmless joke but I wouldn't be surprised if David Yost found it a little insensitive.

I liked the joke - I got a laugh out of it. :lol I think Billy had such a unique personality in this film - so different than Yost - that I don't think Yost should take offense. RJ really made this role his own, in my opinion.

But I understand where you're coming from. I could see him not liking it.

They introduced a LBGTQ and autistic character, and I am glad to know I wasnt the only one who thought that blue ranger joke went a little too far just because of Yost, i dont know if it was a joke or a tribute.

Yost is very sensitive about stuff like that

Im surprised theres not a controversy.
He got super mad at Cranston's fairy joke

I walked out of the movie and saw Logan

Smart move :lol

I went to take my nephew to see this, thought it was terrible.

The only character I thought was halfway decent was the blue ranger, but his humor got stale by the end of the movie. Everyone else was just edgy misfits that break the rules for no reason. I honestly expected these kids to rob banks once they got their powers.

There wasn't much action in the movie, but what little action that was there was uninspired.

Bryan Cranston was basically playing himself but looked exactly like Patrick Stewart for some reason :lol

Overall, horrible film and easily the worst movie I've seen this year, but I'm also not the demographic this movie was targeting. This is aimed strictly at teenagers.

Oh and when that Kanye West song plays during a big action scene, I cringed :lol

Power Rangers: Aftershock comes out in a few days.

I'll be sure to fill you guys in on what happens after the movie. :lol

I respect everyone's opinions. I may not agree, but I respect them. :lol

I agree with pturtle on the action part. It's my biggest critique too - and I think it's why the movie is missing the mark with many critics.

The Kanye song though? How dare he go there :D....Honestly, I've had that song stuck in my head since seeing the movie. That song really complimented the battle scene, in my opinion.

I'm glad you enjoyed it man, I don't think any real fans should pay any mind to my review since I've never watched an episode of Power Rangers. This was basically my introduction to it, and for me it just didn't work. I felt it was a bit too dark for kids, and a bit too silly for adults, which is why I think it was aimed at teenagers. It might also be great for old time fans but I have no clue since I've never watched the original show.

I think you bring up some valid points, especially with the action standpoint. It definitely lacked. And I think this movie will need more than fans seeing this to make it successful. So while it sucks to hear didn't enjoy it, Lionsgate needs to take notice to movie goers like yourself because they'll need you to be successful. As much as I hate to admit it, there isn't enough Power Ranger fans to make this successful. It'll need more.

KAAAANNNNNNYYYYYEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Now I'm not saying it went too far - I don't think it was intentional. I'm saying if Yost were to find it insensitive and said it was a passive aggressive joke directed at him, I wouldn't think that allegation would be too far stretched.

Another thing that I'm questioning is the yellow ranger's sexuality. They intentionally tied LGBTQ with her character but I thought they were hinting at something more than homosexuality - I think they were hinting around her being transgendered. The whole not being normal and something else is brewing is ambiguous but the "labeling" she referenced coupled with the last her last scene, "How do you know it isn't a guy?", I think there's something more there.
