I wanted to like this so much I heard promising things before I went in but I was so bored throughout it. The actors were fine, but I just didn't find any of it really engaging. They were suited up so briefly and the humor felt incredibly forced at times. Didn't like megazord or goldar so that final fight wasn't as nostalgic as I hoped.

Some of the lines were downright groan-inducing. People were literally face-palming around me lol

Absolutely loved it.

Lots of fun.

NOT boring even for one second, I didn't fidge around once!

Was it perfect, hell no!

Do I care that it wasn't, hell no!

I am not a PR groupie, I did not grow up with the show I was already too old for it, but I obviously knew of it primarily because I play the guitar and I love playing that song lol.

Plus I grew up-loving giant robots from the Japanese cartoons (Raideen, Mazinger etc), Gatchaman (Battle of the Planets in the states), Space Battleship Yamato (Star Blazers in the states), Godzilla, martial arts, samurai and ninja action movies and japanese girls getting together and....errrr let me just skip that part.

However I am not into anime even though i've watched GITS, Akira, Appleseed something or other and the 2 Final Fantasy movies.

Ok, that's my asian influence.

Back to PR.

Me, the wife and our son had a blast especially since my son is on his way to his 2nd black belt.

Yeah I would've preferred those 2 or 3 curse words not being used, not because i'm a prude, we simply just don't curse around my son and we prefer to just keeping it that way but it's becoming more difficult with the movies.

But the movie was a ****ing blast!

Rita was great, I didn't think she was over the top or clashed with the rest of the tone whatsoever.

If anything she was a way better villain than most from the MCU!

Big gold guy was pretty cool, maybe she should've given him Zordon's face just to be a beach!

My only 2 gripes was where was the US military and Billy should've not been shown morphed prior their big morphing scene, that took away some of the excitement of them doing it together for the exciting climax.

I mean seriously, this movie blew Kong away!

I won't now go running to watch the tv show, their first movie was horrible btw, but i'm ready for more modernized PR stories.

They really created a great teen drama without even using real teens lol.

The one on one talk with Kim and Jason in his bedroom over the photo incident was pretty touching.

Yeah some of the dialogue was silly and some of the humor didn't connect (but some did, transformers joke, rita eating the donut) but overall quite the success restructuring what is a really corny show into a more serious sci-fi drama while still maintaining some of the charm, or do I mean cheese, who knows.

I had no idea they were going to open the movie the way they did, great decision on their part.

The standouts were Billy, Jason and Kimberly as pretty much everyone has already been saying.

Cranston was awesome as was Alpha 5 and again great job with Cranston in the opening, very surprising they went there and i'm not even a fan so I can only imagine what the diehards must be feeling lol.

I even recognized the cameos, go go jye!

There were some diehards in my showing, I can tell because of all the gasps lol

Ok, so those are my thoughts.

A quality PR movie, get the **** out of here!

But you love Transformers, so wtf :lol

To me the dialog actually felt somewhat normal, the only thing that bothered me with the dialog was Kim talking back to Zordon talking about her wet wedgie and Zack's I'm super crazy act. Everything else felt good to me, especially Jason and Billy whom to me, really grounded and elevated the film.

I also thought the film in general was fantastic! Like everyone else has said it's the breakfast club meets power rangers but they did the breakfast club side so well it really over shadowed the power rangers side of the film. To me the film was at it's weakest when they actually got the suits and zords. The first hour and half were great but for what ever reason once the fight started it didn't hit the way I would have liked it to. It's still highly enjoyable to me though. I might see it again.
