i thought everything was pretty great except the end. we spend the entire movie waiting for them to get their suits, just so they can fight rocks for 2 minutes and then jump into the zords which looked stupid. i want to see them kick ass in hand to hand combat, fight rita or a small goldar or something. they didnt get any close up shots of the zords and half of them barely had any design, if they hadnt been color coated, i would have had a hard time figuring out which zord was which. goldar was terribly done, giant gold monster with no face, no speech, no fighting ability. just terrible. when rita jumped into him i was praying for it to transform into a gold and green dragonzord or something, but nope it didnt do anything. pointless. the megazord was better than what i saw in the trailers, but it was still bad. why the hell were the rangers separated from each other in little pods. they should be in the chest or head, sitting next to each other so they can communicate with each other better. then the part where they ***** slap rita, really stupid. zords fight zords, they should have jumped out like they always did in the show and 5 on 1'd her ass. another lost opportunity for awesomeness.

also, i am shocked elizabeth banks didnt annihilate the role as rita. shes awesome but honestly her rita was only above average. i thought that was the one thing about the movie that was going to be amazing no matter what, but i was wrong.

aside from the whole ending, i enjoyed most of the movie. if they can make smarter decisions when it comes to fight and zords scenes, i think they have a winning formula here. i doubt theyll change anything in the sequel though, most big franchises enjoy repeating the same mistakes and expect different results.

Not too happy with the review but thank you for bumping the thread
Thank you friend

I've seen it twice, and really want to see it a third time. I miiiiight this weekend.

Captain, we would probably be best friends in the real world. :lol

Maybe our mothers have the same name? I'm still looking forward to MK8! :yess:

I definitely enjoyed this more on a second viewing. I picked up some Krispy Kreme the other day, and that made me more anxious to watch this again. :lol
I hope it stays in theaters for a little while.

Well I'd still say it's a pretty awesome movie overall. 20 minutes of really bad CGI and boring zord fighting doesn't make the other hour and a half and less awesome. Put it this way, I'd rather watch this movie dozens of times before I'd watch star wars 7 again. Power rangers at least did things with its characters. Didn't rely too much on nostalgia and gets you excited for the sequel. When it comes to sw8, we are all just waiting for them to badly copy empire and badly kill off a main character and dump their ass in a hole.

Echoes my opinion as well. The ending was very hurried and it should of been longer. Also it bugged me the Megazord didn't have the classic Power Sword and only had the Pterodactyl wings... at least the toy has multiple weapons.

All in all, smarter decisions can make this a great series. It stumbled a bit only at the end, but I enjoyed it a lot. Since we don't need introductions in the next film, there will be more action and I imagine the majority of the film will be them fighting the Green Ranger and him/her turning good at the end.

I really doubt the next one will have more action. If there is a next one then they will probably cut the budget.

If anything i can predict the power rangers end up losing their powers for the first half of the movie.

Or somehow they cant use their suits

It is funny because technically the ramgers had their suits and the zords the same amount of time as the 1995 movie

just saw it again lol, man as much as some things bother me about the movie, it still gets me hyped up. thinking about all the possibilities for a sequel, i feel like my heads going to explode lol. i hope they get a sequel green lit and i hope they get a slightly higher budget so they can do the green ranger and dragonzord justice.

Folks, we passed the $100 million mark. :rock

I still think people are too optimistic for a sequel. I'm thinking this will will need to pull in $250+ million to be considered a 'success'.

I'm not very optimistic about it. Although it's only been out two weeks, it could still get 50% more than the budget, plus who knows what they're getting with toy sales. Those always sell well.

I'd hate for it to die with one movie. With some fat trimmed and better directing, it could be a great series.

From the synopsis, it sure seemed like it does. Although they're stuck with such a uncertain ending to really expound upon anything.

I was going to post a review, but that link pretty much puts all of the details out there.

I didn't care for it. I like the rest of Boom Studio's MMPR stuff though.

I haven't been compelled to even search those out. Did they get Thunderzords yet? I swore I saw art for them somewhere.

I finished issue #9 - the last in the latest TPB. I wait for the TPB collections, but the latest individual issue run is at #13. No Thunderzords that I know of (but I also try to avoid spoilers.)

They're REALLY good. I definitely recommend them.

I'll give them a shot at some point. And yes I prefer TPBs and I never by singlets. As I understand it they still got the same team, right? That's one thing I want them to stick with in the film series if it continues. I hated the revolving door of stars in it, but then again with union issues and wanting the team to stay young, I understand it.
