So damn angsty.

It doesn't look bad but it doesn't feel like Power Rangers at all, it feels more like a superhero team flick aimed at the Twilight audience. A few flickers here and there but if I didn't know anything about Power Rangers, I'd never made the connection. I'm interested to see what the actual trailer looks like so I guess this did its job.

Of all the crappy 90s kids shows to choose from, they go with this? Over Legends of the Hidden Temple AND Where in the World is Carmen San Diego? Shame on you, movie studios. Shame.

we have about 6 months to go, I'm sure we'll be seeing plenty in the next few trailers. I imagine they'll go with full ranger action in the next trailer and tease the zords and probably give us the full zords reveal in the final trailer, maybe show the megazord.

That sig is awesome, I was hoping for a bit more color in the film but this none the less looks awesome.

They wouldn't blow their wad so early, so yeah of course it will be a gradual thing. I'm curious to see the rest of their weapons since we saw the Red Ranger sword only so far.

And thanks, I made it earlier.

Just saw the trailer - this is definitely "Power Rangers" for a newer generation of kids (how did the high school become so depressing?) :lol. I'm not really expecting much. But, all I ask, is that they include gratuitous and eccentric hand gestures for absolutely no reason at all during conversations. Also, I hope that one of the Rangers will pronounce Power Rangers like "Paw-WOR RINGURRZZZ" - just like Jason David Frank in the old show. "Guys, we have tha paw-wor. wur dah "Paw-WOR RINGURRZZZ". That was iconic. And pretty annoying. But, it needs to be in this movie for me to give a damn about it.

In my defense, this is coming from a guy with an oversized MMPR sig and avatar - posted a week before the trailer, in anticipation for today.

What did you guys expect? :lol

Jye understands me.

JYE..........

Ummm...you have the coolest sig in this forum. :yess: :rock

This is a funny post.

Gargoyles would be great as a film and I believe it was a Disney show, so Ii don't get why they haven't made a film yet :dunno

I could try to look past these terrible costumes but... this absolutely non-power-ranger-y teaser...
I can't see my self givin' it a chance on a big screen. Not yet at least.

Heck, now I'm glad they do not look as awesome as this:

Would you really be alright with the cheesy hokiness the 90s version had? With next to no real character development at all? People seem to forget this was a show aimed at children, and it wasn't ****ing Goodfellas. I really don't know what people wanted out of this.

Being as a yuge fan of it when it first came out, I think the teaser was fine. It did what it was supposed to do. But it can't please the 45 year old man babies on here that didn't even bother with the show when it was on TV.

Two words - Matthew Vaughn.
PR done in style of XFC could be the best thing in the world.

I deffinitelly didn't want Chronicle light mixed with late Harry Potter films.

Ah yeah, I remember your love affair with XFC. Well done film, but not one I go out of my way to watch.

I know everyone is pissed off with the powers without the suits thing, but I honestly don't see it being made a thing in the long run.

I think it was a wise decision to show the costume actually morphing onto them.

Sure it resembles this a little

But whatever, so far so good.

Regarding the tone, we don't know enough yet to already proclaim it inferior to Davd Fincher.

But for me just based off that trailer it already looks like Citizen Kane when compared to that 95 movie I recently suffered thru.

I like the Venom-esque look too. I mean you can see the ******* zippers on the suits in the 90s version. They're supposed to be otherworldly, so what better than a Liquid Metal formation of it.

I wish the suits had a color scheme closer to the 90s version, but I think they're passable. There's fan art done of them with it and it's definitely the way they should of taken it.

Agreed.

If they're going to reach today's audiences they have to ground many elements that the show didn't need to.

:lol c'mon now.

The suits and the formation kinda remind me of the Guyver a little bit too. I wonder how they're going to Morph outside of the one scene where they first get them.

You know I always looked upon that kids show and thought to myself that they had all the right ingrediants to make a cool giant robot drama if only Hollywood deemed it worthy enough to warrant throwing lots of money at it because they saw it as being super profitable.

So i'm happy to see that the Hollywood business machine decided to go ahead with this.

Profitable Superhero mvies (ie; MCU) really paved the way for this as did Godzilla 2014 making a decent global box office.

I always felt that Power Rangers, being from Japan mixed with western characters, had the potential for making a great combo Raideen, Mazinger Z, Gatchaman, Kaiju and Martial Arts movie.

I would love to see these kids being launched from motorcycles into their respective mechs lol.

At the end of the day I just want a polished giant robot romp with cool super powered warrior pilots saving the earth.

Pacific Rim had boring humans as pilots with mostly horrible looking kaiju's and mechs.
