Can't wait for that parody film :slap.

Generic but awesome.

The reason it continues to matter today is that it always transcended its generic nature. It was supposed to be a stupid Fox Kids show but instead became a staple of the 90s that today's adults can't wait to revisit.

Joseph Kahn & Adi Shankar's 2015 Power Rangers Fan Film was a wet dream for anyone who grew up watching the show because it was a direct follow up to MMPW. Still wish a feature length film version of that is what we were getting next year.

But I'll take what LGF is offering.

Completely agreed, and I really enjoyed the fan-made film for those reasons, too (although the violence was a bit too much for MMPR). On that note, if LG managed to make a more mature movie with grown-up characters from the original show (as a thumbs-up to all of the fans who grew up watching MMPR and are now in their 30s), that would've been perfect.

The trailer for this movie doesn't look too bad, but I'm not too keen on reinventing old characters. I'll go in with a lot of reservations...

Judging by the style and mood of this film , it wouldn't surprise me if the Zords will try to attack the teens first before they control them :dunno

They could go the taming route ala Dino Thunder. Wouldn't surprise me.

The show was generic.
I'm sayin' that it shouldn't be a modern Hollywood generic depressed-engsty-teen-superheroes. Sick and tired of this ****ty trend. Not that the genre is bad but most of the movies under it are garbage.

You were going to hate it no matter what it was.

I sense sarcasm....

No , I really want to see it..Why not..they already ruined my favorite character Jason making him a moody bad boy, so I want too see t-Rex havoc :lecture

While I'll also add, who the F### idea was it to have Noami cut her hair, she has beautiful hair is this so she doesn't upstage that tramp Becky G :pfft:

Riddick, what were you hoping to see to make it more 'Power Ranger-y' - besides costumes and less angsty?

:lol

I don't think it'll happen, but I wouldn't be opposed to it within reason. I mean you can't have the Zords be the villain - but a similar sequence like the dinobot scene in AoE would be cool, I think. Obviously, they wouldn't able to go toe-to-toe with them, but you could take a page from that or even something similar to Voltron, where it takes them a bit to get use to piloting and assembling the Megazord.

I had no hopes. That's why I'm still here talkin' about it. :lol

Okay. Just clarifying. :lol

But if you had no hopes had can you be disappointed? Or have preferences for it be more "Power Ranger-y"?

Again, no trying to be combative here. Serious question.

And I literally have nothing to this weekend, hence all of my time here. :lol

I dunno... I'm not even that big of a fan of the franchise.
Yet I felt very disappointed seein' those posters and watchin' that trailer...
Guess I want some quality upbeat sci-fi martial arts action with cheesy characters. :lol

You mean you don't want a Captain Murica cameo?

Already said that I'd absolutely love PR done in X-Men First Class style.

And what does 'X-Men First Class' style mean?

You can't have Xavier, Magneto or any other Marvel properties in this, so no idea what you're saying. :lol

I respect that. That's what I was wondering.

So essentially an updated 1995 film? (Not saying that's a bad thing (minus Ivan). Again, just asking.)

I wanted a darker version of the series, and then I saw that fan film and hated it. That was needlessly dark.

I agree. And I know I've mentioned wanting a darker movie - but that's not the route to go, IMO, to appeal to a wide audience.

This new trailer gave me everything I've wanted in a Power Rangers teaser trailer. And hopefully, the movie follows suit.
