In the Iron Man movie anyway. But this could be just a stepping stone to his own feature.

WHAT!

They opted to not go with David Hasslehoff after all. :monkey2

Oh, I guess Sam will do, but he has to fill some pretty big shoes left by the Hoff.:monkey1

Not what you expected? Not an ULTIMATES reader are you?

Funny thing is - the headline at AICN was "Guess who's playing Nick Fury - hint - his new movie is 1408". And I'm thinking - well John Cusack is an interesting choice, but what about Sam Jackson? Then I read the article...

I actually have read some Ultimates. I enjoyed the movies enough as well but that whole Universe was just not what I had hoped for.

they should stay true to the comics. If its not ''ultimate'' Iron Man, than why used ultimate nick Fury....in 616,Nick is a white guy...:emperor

I never got into the old Nick Fury - but the Ultimates version has an attitude - which he mostly gets from Sam Jackson. So I think this is perfect casting.

Saying that he should be white in the movie is like saying Brandon Routh was too pale to play Superman, or you can't have a blond Bruce Wayne.

And Michael Clarke Duncan was perfect casting for Kingpin. A good actor who also had the size.

I think he'll make a good Nick Fury...given that the Ultimate version of the character is based on him. Probably made the casting easier too.

Or a Blond Bond.

Dave, you're right. I will never forget the phenomenal performance that Michael Clarke Duncan pulled off in the hit movie Daredevil. Left me on the edge of my seat!

since this isn't Ultimates based, i woulda prefered a white Nick if only to soften the memory of the Hasselhoff bomb. ya know, so i could say that at one time, there had been a cool Nick on screen that was based off the Silver age. i have no doubt tho that Sam will rock the role. if they weren't gonna faithfully portray him old school, then he's definitely the way to go.

I don't like the way they blend the 616 and Ultimate universe in movies.

Wait until the Captain America movie is based on the Ultimates version, then people will ***** when he is a more militant soldier and kicks people in the head when they are down.
