People already talking about too much armor? Are you folks on crack? We've been asking for this for how long now and then you want them to pull back? Holy crappola. I hope this year is filled with a ton of armored stufff.

Agreed...jeez! Everyone says where are the Clones, where are the Stormtroopers, where is Vader...now we get them...Oh, please not other stormtrooper...I don't get it.

Well sign me up...Hell with the Skywalkers, Leia for now, just give me more armor.

I'm totally psyched for this figure! Since Sideshow's first year with the Star Wars line the sandtrooper has been one of my most wanted and now I've finally got one of the announcements I've been waiting for. Great way to start 2009!

Really happy about this. I knew the Sandtrooper would be next, it was the best choice for SS. I only hope they'll make all the necessary changes from Stormtrooper to Sandtrooper: different knee plate, no buttons on belly armor, different paint on various gray parts of helmet etc. etc.

Happy I may be seeing this release. I thought Sideshow should really spread out the trooper releases, not everyone can afford such an intensive troops building schedule.

Man, this one is going to be a tough call! I really like the looks of him so far, hopefully the price isn't too high and it really depends on the release date too. I've got the Stormtrooper, Vader, and Toht all pre-ordered and can't really swing two SS figures in one month.

This is going to be sweet! Not expected though. I think the economic situation is unfortunate and is probably why folks would want SS to pull the reigns back a bit on $90 figures. I'm sure everyone's happy to see the armor, just not a great time to army build for sure. Gotta get one per each pauldron included!!!

They could list ranks - each color is a different rank


I hope we get a screen accurate Sandtrooper - that helmet is not yet screen accurate, but its an easy fix

I have a nasty feeling that this Sandtrooper is going to carry a higher price tag than the other armored figs so far. I just hope it's not in the Hot Toys realm of pricing ($150).

Great news! Hopefully it'll shut all the people whining for a Sandtrooper up for awhile until they find something else to obsess about.

I would've preferred an orange Pauldron too, but I have a Marmet Sandtrooper with one, so I'll be more than happy with the white.
I'm surprised no one has listed the different Pauldron color ranks yet:

Sandtroopers wore colored pauldrons as a designation of rank. A sandtrooper sergeant's pauldron was white, while an enlisted trooper's pauldron was all black. Squad leaders, who led units of seven troopers, wore orange shoulder pauldrons

So this is really a Sandtrooper Sergeant.

Yeah right....too much money to be made. From SS's standpoint: why release one while you can release three min and maybe a fourth - if they do the grey one

When I think of a Sandtrooper I think of one with an orange pauldron so I'll be waiting until that one comes out; and I hope there isn't too much dirt on him. I like my troopers nice and clean.
