Re: Saruman the White

Are you being serious? Tell is to stop talking about ES then ask an ES question? :lol

Lol no just a joke (the ES talk of course) but I got some pretty real answers. Lol and I also think the 500/1000 thing or 500/1250

Re: Saruman the White

1 thing I know is greed will destroy you. SS has gone from one bad decision to another, I remember the days when they released a statue they would number it AS SOON AS it's put up on pre-order, and the EX ES was low, do you guys remember the hype, and how fast the EX's sold out? nowerdays.... they do TBD on ES's, kills the hype, only a third will prob order others will try to get a bargain on the secondary market, and overall just kills the whole excitement of ordering and having a "rare" item in your collection.

It's even worse then that, not only don't they now tell you the ES until days/weeks later, they charge you a deposit (non-refundable) as soon as you place the pre-order.

I remember when those NRD where going to be few and far between and that SS was always going to provide full details for any items that had it. Well that didn't last long.

I figure the ES on the Ex will be someplace around 1000 and the regular probably 1500-2000.

In regards to the ES announcements. It would be nice to see it maybe not right when it goes up but within 10 days of it going up. Let them get a judge of where it will land and go from there. The NRD doesn't bother me at all. There are far too many collectors out there who order everything only to cancel it all later. There is a cost for bad judgement in everything. This is that.

If the ES for the EX is 1000 and reg 1500-2000 it will not sell out till 2015 maybe 2016. Not until Saruman is seen in the next Hobbit film will it draw more sales. I pray it's 500 EXES. No more

Obviously it's not comparing apples to apples and we don't know the editions sizes but it still makes me sad that a $2300 Optimus Prime exclusive statue (which admittedly is super awesome) is almost sold out but Saruman isn't. I wish more people shared my love of Middle Earth. :grouphug

I agree. I hope the ES is 500/1000 ex to reg, no more. Another reason is that the sooner something sells, the sooner we will probably see something new. Just a thought.

A lot of it also has to do with what's hot at the moment. Like it or not Transformers has been hot the last few years and LOTR was out 10 years ago. The Hobbit simply hasn't generated the same interest in middle earth the way LOTR did. You also have to look at Optimus Prime as THE most popular transformer and Saruman as a secondary character.

That's all true but it sill makes me sad.

Don't be sad little buckaroo. At least the LOTR PF line is still alive. I've wated a Saruman a long time and we got him. He will go with Gandalf the Grey and my repainted Frodo.

Middle-earth isn't as hot even with The Hobbit. That being said its the best fictional world we can visit IMO.

Would you have preferred that LOTR have been directed by Michael Bay? Megan Fox as Arwen? Lol. Marky Mark as Strider. Dwayne Johnson as Gimli. Frodo played by Shia Leboeuf.

:horror :panic:

You're lucky negative rep has been disabled otherwise you might just get one for even suggesting such a thing! :lol

Although, the Megan Fox thing may not be so bad. :naughty

Excellent point. Personally, I really thought they were going to pull the plug after Sauron. After giant beauties like that one and DROM, I figured they'd go out guns blazing. Very pleased the line still seems to have some life left!
