Re: Saruman the White

I dont buy that for a second for some reason or another in regards to the Reg version

Well since they already set the ES on the Reg, you have to account for all the dealer orders off that number. Seems kind of early to have set that ES as well. Who knows, but maybe this is one that was a strong seller through the retail network and a poor seller direct due to the EX choice?

Either way, this one is a classic in my eyes. LOTR doesn't get the attention of their other lines, but this PF is up there with the best of them. People will kick themselves for missing out.

They pulled that crap with the Conan/Beast Reg ed dio too...less than 30 remain a couple months ago...I dont trust that especially when it comes to the reg edition...

I saw both Alien busts doing the same thing, and those have even higher numbers.

Yea, but nobody cares about that statue:lol

Well either SS are lying or it is doing well with 2000 ES and I think 70 remain ? Personally I think it's not that bad. Perfect ? No. I'm actually on the fence on ordering it.

Worst PF in years if not ever IMO due to so much potential, they screwed up every facet(and I don't even mind the Dam part of the base a lot of people hate too). I would bet serious money this is nowhere near selling out the reg.

Sideshow is lying about that less than 100 remaining. No way is it true IMHO

They don't seem we know as it just keeps happening.

It is a bs trick they use. I know they have a better tracking system than that. I had something that was on 'checking Inventory' awhile back on flex pay that I wound up canceling, it immediately showed 'less than 10' on the product page, and that '1' was sold out within the hour.

You shouldn't buy a statue based off of "less than x remain" anyway and I doubt many do. It's just to entice the fence sitters which is a small minority. Buy a statue because you want it. ES or limited remain shouldn't ne a deciding factor IMO.

I only do it to keep SS from having my deposit any longer than required, hopefully lowering the TBD ES, or waiting till the piece is coupon eligible. Just no reason to buy these pieces early anymore. The fun of quick sell outs is gone, so this is the only drama left to us anymore.

I agree. Sometimes seeing that a piece is on low quantity alert may get the fence sitters to more easily decide if they really want it or not. It is at that point that they may realize that it time is running out. At the same time, there are so many reasons why someone may have waited as long as possible before committing to an order.

Personally, the ES is completely irrelevant on some pieces whereas on others it is very important. It is like a sliding scale. With statues such as the upcoming Wonder Woman, the ES is irrelevant to me but for other pieces, such as the soon to be released Conan - Rage of the Undying Corpse, it was one of the deciding factors.

Regarding SSC potentially manipulating the low-quantity numbers of the regular editions, it is important to realize that there may be any number of reasons that some larger orders from certain retailers could get canceled and would result in an influx of product. It may look like manipulation but there could be an honest reason behind it.
