So, in this case, my first try will be as follows:
  • Remove the suit and turn it inside out
  • Dab some water on my finger tips to lightly wet the suit where the symbol is at and it’s perimeter,
  • Get some parchment or wax paper to place on top
  • Use the tip of an iron on low to medium setting to heat it up in increments of about 10 seconds, more or less regularly checking to see if it’s loose enough to start to peel it.
  • The trick is to not force it. If it isn’t budging, apply a little more heat and check again. Add a little more water if the fabric begins to dry too much. You want it to peel fairly easily so you don’t stretch or warp it. That’s why it’s a slow process. You don’t want to ruin the suit or the symbol while doing it
EDIT: A hair dryer may work if you have one that gets hot enough or if you have a heat gun. The hair dryer I have is pretty old and doesn’t get hot enough for something like this. If you do the hair dryer method, I would still apply the heat from the back side rather than the top

Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely try the iron method.

No problem. And in case I try it before anyone here, I’ll report back with what I did exactly :duff

Who knows, someone else may have a better method as there’s definitely more talented modders out there than myself. This is just my initial thoughts on how to tackle it without having it in hand and based on prior experience with these types of suits.

I've had to deal with lots of "glue" residue situations on old military clothing trying to get the badges and patches off. Usually I am left with some sort of residue which, with patience, can usually be removed using very hot water and "scraping" at it with a blunt tool. Newer figures I have never had to tackle in this way. I'll be curious how it works in case I decide to pick these two up... as the prices for the 10-year-old HT versions are crazy high.

Hmmm - I was thinking of cancelling some orders anyway, so these might be an easy drop now.

For situations like that, I've found putting a dab of "goo gone" on a rag then using the rag to lightly rub out the glue residue tends to work. Then use a dab of either detergent or dish liquid with water to clean up to make sure it doesn't stain.

I just checked the HT Batman and can feel a fat suit similar to the one on the Pagliacci Joker: a one piece vest that extends down to the just above the knees.
I wonder if there's a difference in batches for the padding b/c this one from "Da Bomb Show" has a full body thinly padded suit on top of a stomach pad, a torso pad and a crotch pad :lol So much padding instead of going through the trouble of actually making a specific body for him. He also apparently had the added chest piece that the HT Avengers 1.0 Cap through Civil War Cap figures had. I wouldn't be surprised if the Saturn (Mars) undies fit so loosely b/c they probably didn't include ALL the padding that HT did. They probably matched the tailoring/size of the HT template and didn't factor in that missing padding. That's not an excuse, but rather me just trying to understand/figure out why the ST is so baggy compared to the HT and what I may have to do to bring it up to par.

That is a crazy variety of padding.

It's probably the same. I was going by how squidgy he felt, and his thighs felt as though they were padded while the lower legs had no give at all. It felt like a standard HT fat suit.

I hope someone can do a better comparison than this quick mock-up (hope its OK to use your photo for this, Breda)

Now, not that HT's Batman is so great -- the body under the tights ruins the effect, the colors are wrong on the cape and cowl, and his own pants aren't too fitted either after all... but the sculpt and paint are there. From afar, the outfit and proportions look correct, barrel-chested and all.

The Mars version looks like a cosplayer. Although Mars looks to have more muscular legs -- which Adam West did not have -- the stitch lines and bunching of material beneath ruin the effect.

Perhaps this is a "first photo" issue; we need more pictures to really know.
The mars looks like the thug dressed as batman climbing through the window of gordons office when bruce wayne was there.

Robin looks great so far. I would pair him next to a HT Batman if I didn't already have the OG.

This opinion is of coarse going by the small sample size. The price also makes them great if you want to toss them into Jazz's Batmobile without worrying about anything. They obviously will be overshadowed by the car either way.

I guess I’m not really excited or happy anymore that I secured a set from Giantoy recently. Robin looks good but Batman not at all. This is a reminder why I never really cared about 3rd party stuff in the first place. Now I just hope that the second batch of the Romero Joker is not a downgrade in quality compared to the previous, impossible is nothing.

This also greatly reduces the excitement for upcoming Mars figures, especially the females from Batman and the (teased) James Bond line ☹️

Nobody else is probably going to touch the '66 series, especially for not what Mars/Saturn is charging. I guess having mediocre figures is better than having none at all.

I used to be of this train of thought; however, now I’m finding that, for myself, I’d prefer quality items or nothing at all.

When it comes to something like this though, it does look salvageable with a little elbow grease and without adding much to the total cost since only 1 of the two need work.

That said, this isn’t as simple a fix as the tie was with Romero Joker.

That’s the complete opposite of my philosophy when it comes to collecting, no matter what it is. I’d rather have nothing than a shelf full of mediocre or even crappy stuff.

And the fact that many have accepted the fact that we spend hundreds of dollars on pieces that need to be corrected .Its really unacceptable if i want to do that ill buy a model and not talking about mars how many of us spend 300 on a HT figure then another 100 on custom parts .For the money we spend it should be 99.9% accurate .JMO

As opposed to buying then re-selling these I'm very much fence sitting, considering eating the pre-order amount, cancelling and cutting my losses, unless newer images show an improvement on Batman

That’s also exactly my philosophy.
Compared to the HT’s one, Batman looks awful.
It begins to scare me about 89 Bruce Wayne from them…

Hot Toys^
What's now standing out to me is how much the ears curl out on both (though more on Saturn/Mars).
I know the 66 Batsuit was all over the place, depending on the episode, the season or which publicity shot, and most images seem to have that, or even one curled and one streight :lol yet there are some where they are closer straight up and down.
Not sure if that was ever the norm, but I'de prefer it.
