True you can hit with either, but a scepter is not made to be a weapon, more of a show piece.

I know, and that's actually part of why i call sauron's a scepter. You are right, it is a mace and used as one, but to me it is also Sauron's symbol of evil dominion (along with the ring, of course), because it is what he wields in the battle where he essentially is declaring himself a King of middle earth.

But back to the point, anyone have tips for my proposed battle damaged mace mod? Or anyone want to do it?

If you want to do scratched/scuff marks, all you really have to do is a light "dry brush" to the ends of the head of the mace. Some sort of steel metallic color, that at least would give the impression of basic battle worn wear. Anything other then that you'll have to start hacking away, though painting would still be the same.
I like using Tamiya paints myself...

Thanks. Since it's am extra, I wouldn't mind hacking away at it. Bludgeoning elf skulls is nasty business, after all :)

Looking at some photos I have only just realized that I never put the 2 swords into the base :slap. Checked the box and sure enough there they are, looks much better now.

Ha Ha what are you like.....great piece isn't it love mine

I called SS today to make my last flex payment early and was told they couldn't process it. Had to wait till he was back in stock. I asked when that would be and they said sometime 2nd quarter

Well I guess I'm gonna be waiting a bit longer for this as well, because I was going to pay mine off early too. SS probably doesn't want to take up warehouse space with more of these gigantic Sauron boxes than they need to and are bringing them in as needed. My final Flex-pay is April, so hopefully he's here by then.

If you ordered when they were in stock they should be holding one for you. In that case you should still be able to do the early pay off.

Yeah, I ordered way back in August when it was in stock, so maybe I'll give it try in a couple weeks. I need to let my wallet cool down a little after getting charged for Azog yesterday.:lol

I started the flex plan about 2 mo before he even came in stock. The order was placed during the original pre-order window.

So then technically it was a pre-order when you placed it. Their preorders never guarantee that you will get the first stock of figures. Stock is allocated according to first come first serve I believe, and since the preorder was up for much longer than 2 months before it came in stock, you were probably pretty far down the line.

Now, you would think that since you had started paying already, and that not all of the first batch was used up filling preorders and there was stock available to purchase for a while, that one would have been held for you. So it seems like you slipped through a crack on a technicality of being ordered as a preorder, and the stock available after fully paid preorders were processed as made available and then sold out to those who paid in full of started their flex while it was in stock.

Surely whoever pays first, gets the product first, why would they hold onto a piece for months whilst someone flexes when someone who has payed fully has to wait lol

You are not understanding their system, it does not matter how you pay, I only goes by the order time, they are not going to sell a guys flex piece out from under him.

Well but that's what they did.

I'm a bit ambivalent on what is proper here. I can see both sides.
