I used the lowest setting for Nova's hair. First, I forced the hair around her temples to lay flat on her face and I ironed it down like this:

And then I kind of combed up the rest of her hair to try to remove that silly part on the middle of her head...and ironed it down the way I wanted it to fall.

Try it. If you use the lowest setting you won't burn the hair.

Armando looks damn good KFog! Good job with him. :joyWhat do you think about that apoxie sample I sent you?

FYI - I painted that Armando sculpt, but I didn't sculpt it. Let's give credit where credit's due. That was Ada. Remember?

BTW - I also taped off each golden button on his jacket so that I would NOT get black paint Armando's jacket. I used a tiny brush and hand painted each golden button a flat black color using paint. I thought it would look a little better than the golden buttons. But he looks great whether you do this or not. :naughty

:clap:clap:clap

Hi Mark! First off, I really liked working with the apoxie and it made a fantastic neck post! Also, I was going to make a cardboard sleeve to slide behind the buttons and then paint them a dark brown. Great figure to have in my collection thanks to you and Ada! :banana

So you put the iron directly on Nova's hair? No cloth rag between the iron and her hair?

I'll take a photo to show you the "grab bag" of colors I've been using Ironman. When I paint, I am truly winging it. I don’t have a set pattern, or certain colors that I use. It’s either hit or miss with. To me, most of my paintings fall somewhere in the middle range. Only a couple paintings did I ever hit out of the park. I mix it up so often, that I don’t recall how I did Galen or the Orangutan Preacher. Those two are my very best!

I do the same--I use puddles of color, starting with peach, add browns and reds...and then hopefully hit a decent fleshtone. Each head I do I start fresh...Each time I add layers I start with a fresh puddles--because the ones I had created had dried up.

It looks so much better Jess. I'm going to try this. Thanks for sharing. :)

When you're stuck with lemons you must make lemonade...and I know that the SS Nova sucks but we must do what we can to make it better. I know with a repaint, and seeing her in hand with a new hairstyle we can make her into Linda Harrison.

Nova could've been better, but I don't think she sucks! She about a 7 out of 10 for me.

She's not that bad at all. I have never seen her in person only photos. It's really hard to capture Linda Harrison...SS Nova is not that bad considering it's hard to capture the female likeness.

After I have my cookies and my hot chocolate for breakfast, I'm going to the post office to deliver a package. I've got something for Angel and Ironman. Let me know when you get this package, guys, and if you like it.

Time to get off the computer. I will do some serious housework (hate that!! but it must be done) and then I can treat myself to some painting.

My husband is going to the post office for me. Thank goodness, because I'm feeling lazy to go out.

Hello All,

I got back late last night. Angel, I got your box. WoW. You are a true master. I love the sculpts. Thank you very much. The Taylor sculpt is superb. My brother and niece will be here shortly, I just wanted to check in quickly and say Thank you!
