Guys...check out the Nova AFTER I ironed down her hair so that it falls naturally:

Here are my lovely gorillas. I ended up showing them the helmets after all, and they were good enough not to ask for General Ursus armor.

WTH???? I can't upload photos anymore on my photobucket account? It says I have only used 43% of it. Does anybody else get this? I have almost 2500 photos in there. Do I need to upgrade to pro?

I know I posted this earlier, but I prefer my images on the thread itself, and not as thumbnails. Anyhoo...this is me ironing out Nova's hair. I had to iron it down because of the way they rooted it--it was off her face when hair doesn't really grow that way...it should hang down around the temples.

Yes, Kfog. What am I trading again? I am having a senior moment in my excitement about my new ape stuff.

OK, Kfog...yes, I can make you a Taylor blanket. I'll let you know when I send it out. I'm going to try to finish some painting this weekend.

I got the same newsletter. Does anyone here know how to earn an extra $350 in less than a month? :horror:horror:horror

Since they are all arriving the same time, at least I'll save on shipping.

Hi IM! I received the following PM from a person that goes by crowinghorse about a couple weeks back! Does anyone know this person?

Interested in Hot Toys Planet of the Apes figures?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a full set of the POTA figures coming in less than a week - set includes Gorilla Soldier, Gorilla Captain (exclusive version), and General Ursus.

I'm asking $120 per figure shipped in the USA and, if you buy all three, I'll knock $20 off the total ($340 shipped for all three in USA) -- that basically gives you free shipping and each figure for less than retail.

Let me know if you're interested.

Jess

I do a lot of selling and buying on OneSixthWarriors.com and have done some selling and buying here, but not a lot. See here for trade refs -https://www.onesixthwarriors.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38848

I hear that I-man!

This morning, I've been working on the latest of the custom apes. Two new ones will be joining our defenses sometime tonight. There will be one more chimpanzee and a gorilla. Nothing really special about them, they’re just different. They're simple background apes to create a bit more atmosphere.

I think that the fleshtones on armondo are fine! Check this baby out! Just another supberb sculpt from Angel! I finished off the rest though!

Maybe I'll switch gears and try some simian sculpts first. What colors do you use for the chimp and orang faces?

I'll take a photo to show you the "grab bag" of colors I've been using Ironman. When I paint, I am truly winging it. I don’t have a set pattern, or certain colors that I use. It’s either hit or miss with. To me, most of my paintings fall somewhere in the middle range. Only a couple paintings did I ever hit out of the park. I mix it up so often, that I don’t recall how I did Galen or the Orangutan Preacher. Those two are my very best!

Armando looks damn good KFog! Good job with him. :joyWhat do you think about that apoxie sample I sent you?

FYI - I painted that Armando sculpt, but I didn't sculpt it. Let's give credit where credit's due. That was Ada. Remember?

BTW - I also taped off each golden button on his jacket so that I would NOT get black paint Armando's jacket. I used a tiny brush and hand painted each golden button a flat black color using paint. I thought it would look a little better than the golden buttons. But he looks great whether you do this or not. :naughty

:clap:clap:clap

I'm telling you Ironman - the gorillas are the easiest to paint. Start with those instead of the flesh tones. You'll feel like you're getting something accomplished and you'll be patting yourself on the back.

Here's the "grab bag" of flesh tone color paints I've been using.
