Time to get cracking and seriously finish my painting. Never got around to it yesterday. It's better to paint in natural daylight.

I hope he's wrong but when I saw all the new licenses of hot toys I was already worried for the future of the apes.

I hope he is wrong too. But when I heard about Hot Toys delving into the Marvel universe heavily (announcing figures from the X-Men trilogy, the Spiderman trilogy and the Blade trilogy) I knew we Apes were in trouble. A company can only spread itself so thin before lines get forgotten.

Really... we are missing out on more Apes because of Blade? Sad.

Wow if only i had know this thread was on here. Need to see all the photos of custom headsculpts. Im a Big POTA fan and love Hot toys stuff but Sshow Apes allways have a place in my heart. I have collected them all but failed to get the exclusive versions. Allways wanted for the Apes to expand, Jailer,Dr Galen and the rest of the Jury. I managed to get the SS Lawgiver 1/6 statue and a custom Taylor Headsculpt. I made the other two Astronauts with quite good likenesses. Need to see photos as looking through all this thread would take forever. Are any custom heads up for trade ? Cheers Steve UK.

And yeah, the thread is a beast... but if you read it a few pages at a time, you will find MANY interesting exchanges between the members. I myself have from time to time peeked at the past pages and throughly enjoyed re-reading them. We've established quite a legacy here... in fact have just past our fourth year anniversary, showing NO signs of slowing.

On a scale of 1 to 10. I think this custom chimpanzee head is about a 5 or 6. I tried using a SideShow Cornelius head sculpt, by extending the ape muzzle and then added some really long hair. I’m going to keep him, but he’ll be hidden amongst all the other apes in the background somewhere...

Wait a second. I might cut off his chimp nose, re-sculpt him a gorilla nose with really big nostrils. After that, repaint him in gorilla fleshtones...

Not sure what to do. I’ll have to think about it.

Gotta run, I have plans with some friends today. Later ape fans.

I give him an 8. I like him as a chimp, but I would shorten the hair in the front a bit for some extra movement. Besides, the chimps were better groomed than most gorillas. I wouldn't hide him. He reminds me of a particular ape. Which one escapes me at the moment though.

Those are just trilogies. POTA is a quintilogy!!!

I really would like to know how well these Hot Toys Apes are selling. Surely, they are selling better than their "The Spirit" line.

I hope they are working on a better results for hair/fur on Zira and Cornelius too. It's good enough for a no-name gorilla or under Ursus helmet but not for main characters as Zira and Cornelius.[/IMG][/URL]

I hope you are right about this W.G. It's a BIG turnoff for me.

Nobody ever reproduced this scene of the film ? It's one of my favourite.

I believe Stickman was going to make that scene for his movie. I seem to recall pictures being posted here with the humans hanging upside down for his reference.

I'd love to see that ! Sometimes I look for the 1/6 camera but since Angel did it himself, I suppose it doesn't exist. Maybe one day Dragon or another create a WWI war reporter with a camera.

If there ever were enough people here interested in obtaining the camera I would make them for everyone. I'm thinking about $15-$20 each for the camera and tripod package. I'd want at least 5 people committed before ever starting such a project.

Thanks Ironman - I really appreciate that, but this custom chimp just seems all wrong to me. When I feel this way it’s kind of hard to shake that feeling. It’s kind of like Jessica taking a hammer to one of her custom sculpts when she feels it could be better. Currently, I can’t shake that feeling.

I really do like his long hair, so I think he'll make a better gorilla than a chimp. The chimp face just doesn’t look quite right to me. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow, but it’s not looking good for this primate. His (possible) surgical fate just may be decided tomorrow.

I have Angel's Ursus helmet. Unfortunately, I have no photos of my SS Ursus wearing it. It fits the SS Ursus perfectly and fixes the major problem with the SS helmet--that it's really too small. It's smooth and perfect and fits nicely grasped in the palm of my hand. When I feel troubled, I hold onto it, unpainted as it is. It is comforting to me.

Your right Angel, I was only counting custom apes and not the human and SS version (Total is four).

Okay - Thanks Kfog. I'll put you on the list and make the armbands for you within the week (if not sooner.)

Let's see if any others are interested in getting this item made. Attached are a couple pictures of the armbands KFog is referring to. Does anyone else want these made? Please let me know over the next couple days. Now or never... I'm going to make them all at one time.

They are starting to look odd. I think I will touch up the hairline so that when I look at them tomorrow, I can see if it's funky or not.

Monkeybat, you need to get one of Angel's revamped Ursus helmet! I don't have any pics of mine to post as of yet either but this new sculpt by Angel and the new flap makes this figure look more like he should have when Sideshow released him.

Hey Jess, you are more than welcome! I didn't think your Apes should be without any humans!

Never did touch Nova's hair. I bought these off of eBay some time ago. I think the only things that were missing are Taylors gun and the pouncho/blanket he wore. I don't know if the previous owner cut her hair but from the looks of the pics, it looks to be the same length as my Nova's hair! Good luck on the repaint of her! I hope she looks better when you get her done! I know you ironing her hair made a big difference!

Edited to say..yes, Ironman...by all means, start a SAVE THE PLANET OF THE APES ON A HOT TOYS SITE. If we start a Hot Toys thread here, it would disappear. The apes are creatures of habit and will check here more often than there.

I've e-mailed the guy who is supposed to be contacting Hot Toys and haven't seen a reply yet.

I don't know who else to contact. Other than trying to contact Hot Toys directly and trying to get an English speaker...I really can't make phone calls while at the slavemines.

Say it isn't so!!!! I hope that his source is wrong! I found a new pic of the back of the boxes. Not only do they have Cornelius but they have Zira on the other box. From what I see on Ebay, these are selling really well! I can't see HT droping the line with only these 3 to go on!
