Long weekend. I got my Apes on Thursday and was totally blown away. These new apes are the highlight of my collection, well outside my Civil War collection. JJ and Angel, you have to at least get one of these to see for yourselves how impressive, and heavy these guys are. I bet these will look a lot better on the DML Dragon Horses. I kinda like the soldier the best. I gave his mane the water treatment and he looks great. No bulking here. Ursus is fun, a little chunky looking but still out of the park. These new apes are by far the best ones on the market. It was interesting to see Cornelius picture on the soldier box. I can't imagine the the chimps won't be next. I could wait till later this year for those as I need to save as much as I can.

That's a REALLY GREAT IDEA!! I'm going to root through my kid's bionicle crap to see if I can use something there.

Jess,if your kids have some bionicle stuff by all means check it out.I just got back from target & saw how expensive lego is these days.Goodgooodlymooodly!I had no idea.

On the subject of chimps, I'm thinking that HT will have to use the "slim True-Type", which are both shorter and slimmer than the standard.Also, to do Zira they'll have to create a new female body, as the current HT female is too tall and, shall we say, 'robust' for Zira...PS

I was looking at the Link thread for a reference so I can plug on with his outfit--I have to finish at least something in my lifetime!! Anyway, the apes thread was on the top right---you had just posted. Don't know it if you do, but I do type 70 wpm without errors...

It is on the General Ursus box. I believe that Zira is on the box of the regular soldier (which I don't have yet).

I know some of you traversed the Forbidden Zome and crossed over to the OSW camp to see some ape activity. I don't know if you saw the 2nd Grodd head that Alyasha has.

The only thing that bugs me about the Hot Toys General Ursus is the way the collar is square-ish compared to the Sideshow Ursus. I don't know...I'll have to look at my General Ursus references to see which one was closer. I always thought that it was more round than square...

Edited to say...Just found my references. The photo I was remembering is the one where Ursus is holding the cigarette. Because of the angle of that shot, the collar looks round. If you look at other photo references of the General Ursus from the movie, it is square-ish, just as Hot Toys made it. So again, Hot Toys was on the mark.

I don't see it happening Sticks, that's just too much money to me. I'm very happy with what I already have.

And you've got quite a collection. You, Ironman and Sticks have tons of apes in your collection.
